Your home garage is designed for your vehicle. It is a space to safely and securely store your car when it is not in use. Plus, it will protect your vehicle from the elements, and this is especially true during the winter.

But this does not mean that it is easy to park in the garage. Many people need help to drive in or reverse into this space since it can be confined and small. Indeed, if you have an SUV or a minivan, you can be intimidated when it comes to parking, and you might have avoided it in the past.

Well, know that there are adjustments you can make in the garage to make it easier to park. Here are some useful tips that can help you change your ways and safely store your vehicle.

Have Appropriate Storage

Most people use their garage for storage. This can be items you do not use on a regular basis, seasonal decorations, gardening tools and sports equipment. No matter what you store in the garage, you have to ensure that you have the right storage to allow you space to park easily. Indeed, this means choosing things like overhead ceiling racks and garage cabinets. This way, you can still store items here, but they are not going to take up much space and make parking more difficult.

Therefore, invest in good garage storage. If you need better options, Garage Giant has the best deals on garage cabinets, with a variety of popular brands at good prices. This can allow you to rearrange your garage and allow parking to be a breeze. What’s more, if you have a small garage, there are overhead racks that mean you can keep the floor clear of any clutter that can get in the way.

Use a Tennis Ball

You might be thinking, how can a tennis ball help with car parking? Well, it is actually a great aid that you can add to your garage, and it is not going to cost much money. In fact, all you need is some string and a tennis ball, and you are ready to get started with this next solution.

So, how does a tennis ball help? Well, what you can do is attach it to string and hang this from the ceiling of the garage. You are going to want to position it where you want to stop your vehicle. The idea is that when the tennis ball touches the hood of your car, you know that this is when you should stop. It is a guide to prevent you from going too far forward and hitting something. Indeed, many drivers have said that it gives the more confidence to park in the garage since they know where the limit is.

Install Sensor Lighting

Garages can often be dark places. This is particularly true if there are no windows in this space. This darkness might be affecting your ability to see and your confidence to park your car in there. So, the easiest way to change this is to add lighting to your garage. This is going to illuminate the space and make sure you see any potential obstacles or difficulties.

In particular, sensor lighting is going to be a good addition to the garage. This means that it is going to switch on when it senses your vehicle. This saves you from having to get out of your car to switch on the lights. Being able to see the space with light can make you feel more confident when you are trying to park.

Stick on Wall Bumpers

If you have a small garage, you are going to be worried about hitting the wall. This might not be when you are driving in. It could be when you open your door. This is particularly true if you have kids in the backseat. You may be worried they will swing the door and hit it on the wall, leaving a big dent.

Well, know that there is something you can do about this. You can add wall bumpers. They stick onto the wall and make sure that there is a cushion for the doors or your vehicle. They can be made of rubber or foam, saving your car from getting scratched or dented. They are a cheap modification you can make to your garage.

Get Parking Blocks

Sometimes, it can be difficult to judge how far you can go forward in your vehicle. This is particularly true if you have a long hood. A good solution can be getting parking blocks. It will act as a barrier so that you know where to stop. If you touch the parking block, you will know that this is the furthest you should go forward.

Parking blocks are relatively affordable to buy. They are installed on the floor of your garage. Just make sure that you choose an appropriate size for your vehicle and position them somewhere that will help you with parking. You can get one that the front bumper will touch if you go too far forward. Alternatively, you can choose a size and position for it to hit the tires.
