CHIT2AM : THE PERSIAN RAP GIANT IN MONTREAL

CHIT2AM

The Canadian music industry has grown tremendously. Statistics have shown that between 2017 and 2018, the Canadian total music revenue increased by 9.2% from USD 639 MILLION to USD 698 MILLION. This milestone could not have been achieved without the impact of significant players like Mehdi Chitsaz.

Mehdi Chitsaz, aka Chit2am, was born on September 17, 1998. He is a music artist of high repute in Montreal, Canada. He is also a producer, songwriter, and actor. This Iranian born musician began his career in 2016 when he relocated to Canada. He was just 17 at that time. Since then, he has done amazingly well, training and investing in other rappers, young and old. He revolutionized the rap industry, with his giant strides as the first Iranian rapper in Montreal. Chit2am has produced a lot of official and unofficial singles.

Mehdi has recently got indulged in a rap beef with a famous Persian rap group known as Moltafet. The reason for it was the insulting action of the group to criticize another group known as Zedbazi. Due to the artist’s strong relations with Zedbazi’s members and his support to a diss track called “Yakh”, he took the step to enter a rap beef with Moltafet.

In order to take revenge, the hackers of the group known as Moltafet have hacked his account.

He has also collaborated with known Persian rappers like Nima Nimosh, Sepehr Khalse, and Behzad Leito. He recently just released a new song titled Yeke Montreal Chapter 2, an addendum to Yeke Montreal.  In this song, he focuses on the hate and jealousy he faced in Montreal and how he prevailed. He also just created a challenge for his song, tagged the #AdidasJordanChallenge. He created a viral video wearing Adidas and Jordan shoes on his Instagram account @chit2am. He asked his followers to create funny impressions with this challenge.

After collaborating with Sepher Khalse and his popularity among the Iranians in Montreal, he got an opportunity to work with Sepher Khalse in organizing a Persian Valentine Party in Montreal on Feb 15, 2020, and performing there which was one of the biggest objectives of his career in this country. This event attracted major players in the rap industry because there was no such concert for many years in Montreal. This project opened many doors for many Iranian hip-hop artists locally and internationally. Many companies and artists requested to have live shows for the first time in Montreal but due to the current situation with Covid-19, the company only accepts requests from local artists who are talented and interested to work under this label. More information is available on their Instagram account @yekemontreal.
