J Rob does funny skits on his Instagram and TikTok to help people dealing with depression or going through a hard time. He wants to make people happy through his content. On the side, he also manages artists, brands, and other influencers to help and support them to get where they want to be in life.

Start of Interview

Hi JRob! How are you?

“I’m doing great; I’m just really blessed to be here. I just want to thank you for this opportunity and for letting me tell you my story. I really appreciate it.”

Where are you from?

“I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.”

When did you start to become a comedian?

“I started to do funny skits on Instagram in February 2020, and I started making TikToks December 2020. I started to take my Instagram videos more seriously once I started to see support from people and gained a larger audience. I started to take TikTok seriously after one of my “Let me call you back” videos went viral, and a lot of people have wanted me to make a series of that.”

What is your greatest inspiration for your content?

“Being able to help people with depression and put a smile on people’s faces every day. Having people tell me I’m who they look up to is a great feeling.”

What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?

My most challenging thing in life was the transition from basketball to being a comedian. Everyone knew me as a basketball player, and that was it. When I started doing funny videos on Instagram, people didn’t use that because I have been a ballplayer all my life. So, I had to get people to get used to me making funny videos, and that was a challenge because I always never got the love and support that I wanted because people didn’t use it. As I started dropping more content consistently, people started to get used to my videos, and I started to get more love and support from people and started to gain an audience. Now I have people looking up to me and saying that I’m a positive role model to them.”

What do you want people to take away after watching your videos?

“I want my videos to help people who have depression or having a bad day. I want people to get a great laugh and smile. I want to make people days, and I always want them to feel good.”

Any new content coming out soon?

“Yes, I’m going to be dropping more videos within the next couple of days.”

Anything else you want the audience to know about you?

“Not really. I just want to think my fans and support team for getting me this far. You’re all day ones, for real.”
