How This Entrepreneur Has Never Taken The Easy Path In Any Aspect Of His Life

There has never been a point in Quinton Heck’s life where he’s taken the easy way out. In high school, he was a three sport athlete and gave his athletics everything he had. After graduating, he chose to continue his athletic career at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, even after being scouted by plenty of other schools. In business, he has failed countless times and spent long hours trying to become a successful e-commerce entrepreneur. Through all of it, his tremendous work ethic has remained constant and he’s learned valuable lessons along the way.
A quote that Heck lives by is from John Milton, “Luck is residue of design.” He knows how much preparation he has put into all aspects of his life, and credits his success to purpose, preparation, dedication, and overcoming numerous failures rather than simply attributing it to luck.
While sailing aboard a US vessel in the Merchant Marine Academy, Heck discovered the book Rich Dad Poor Dad and his outlook on business was forever changed. He fell in love with entrepreneurship, and shortly after learned about drop-shipping. He tried his hand with it, but quickly became passionate about it and grew and learned through various books, courses, and practices.
Even with people close to him telling him that e-commerce was a “scam” and “will never work”, Heck put his head down and used this noise as fuel to push harder. He eventually broke through and created a profitable store. Before he knew it, he had created a successful, autonomous e-commerce store. Believe it or not, the same people who had doubted him asked him to teach them.
Today, Heck is applying his entrepreneurial mindset and skill sets to a new venture as he looks to start a creative agency. His goal is to create a small team of other creators who share similar interests as him, such as videography, photography, website development, marketing, and e-commerce. This way, he and his team will be able to provide massive value to other companies with their skills and expertise. With Heck at the lead and a team of passionate, talented creators behind him, this venture will be something to look out for as it launches this fall.
Heck admits that the biggest challenge for him thus far has been being told by people close to him that what he is doing won’t be able to provide a sustainable living for him, or that he needs to get a normal job. He’s never really blamed them, as he knows what he is doing is so much different than what the average person is accustomed to. And clearly, not just any person would be able to accomplish all that Heck has thus far.
