Jeffrey Kaliel and Class Action Suits

Jeff Kaliel graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College in 2000. His degree was in political science. After that, he spent a year at Cambridge University in England studying philosophy. He then earned his law degree from Yale Law School in 2005. With his education completed, he went into law and was ready to make a difference.

He has been appointed the lead class counsel in a wide range of nationwide and state-specific class action suits. He has won many contested class certification motions, defended dispositive motions, engaged in a discovery that was very data-intensive, and worked extensively with experts in economics and information technology to build damage models. Jeff Kaliel has also successfully resolved many different class actions by settlement. These have resulted in millions of class members getting hundreds of millions of dollars in relief. Today, he is engaged in litigating a number of natural class action cases. These include cases against financial services entities as well as others who have been involved in predatory lending. He leads class actions against those financial services companies that target the most vulnerable population in the U.S.

He not only found success in class action cases, but he has worked to serve the public in this role. He strives to lead class action cases that are in the interest of the public. He also works with non-profits such as the National Consumers’ League to fight for truth in food and animal products in the marketplace. He is also a veteran who fought in the Second Iraq War.
