Meet Brev Scott: Seattle’s Diamond In The Rough

– Start of Interview –
Where are you from?
I was born in Seattle, Washington, and moved to LA when I was 20.
When did you begin making music?
I’ve been making music when I was in elementary school.
How did you get into music?
My dad was always playing classical music around the house and my parents pushed me to join the school band. I learned how to play a majority of the instruments I play now during that time of my life.
What was the biggest obstacle you had to conquer in your life?
Losing people in my life to alcohol abuse and taking care of my family in dire financial times.
Who is an artist you’d like to work with?
Drake
Who are your go-to producers at the moment?
All of my songs are produced, mixed, and mastered by me. I usually like to work on a track beginning to end entirely by myself.
Are you independent or signed?
I am currently signed to Def Jam.
What is your greatest achievement as a musician?
Going on an international tour in my twenties as well as dropping my first project in “Lucid Universe”.
Any new music coming out soon?
My debut EP “Lucid Universe” will be releasing this month. It will feature a few notable guest producers and DJs.
Tell us more about the new music you have coming out, when is it coming out? What is it about?
My upcoming project, Lucid Universe is front to back vibe. I utilized the sounds and melodies I heard while during my tour in Europe. This project was very much influenced by the culture in the eastern hemisphere.
Who’s one artist who inspired you to create music?
Kanye West
What does a day inside your shoes look like?
I wake up and hit the gym first thing in the morning. Then I go to the studio and begin listening to different drum patterns and samples before I begin I cook up.
Is there anything else you’d like to let the readers know?
My music is like my baby. I live and breathe creating music and I will never stop learning and giving to the art.
