Serial Entrepreneur Atinirmal G. Pagarani: “You cannot grow if you stay in your comfort zone!”

Atinirmal G. Pagarani wears many hats. And he wears them with aplomb. Whether it’s pulling the reins of the family business to unchartered territories, creating building material, or using fashion as a vehicle to cross borders, Atinirmal has managed to make his presence felt. As a serial entrepreneur, he never forgets that “you cannot grow if you stay in your comfort zone” and, if his success and popularity are anything to go by, this 36-year old probably has more prudence up his sleeve than most. Let’s see what makes him tick.

Prosper or perish.

The much-acclaimed Yogi Group is a force to reckon with in UAE and India. Atinirmal took on its mantel from his father. The young entrepreneur now heads Yogi GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) in both the countries and has created a niche for himself as someone who does not shy away from taking risks. Ambitious to the core, he asks, “do you want to be comfortable, or want to grow? Choose one because you can’t do both.” As a high-flier whose “heart is where my family is,” it’s no mean task to choose between his two passions, but he knows the importance of “taking tough decisions now to avoid taking tougher actions later.”

Make it better.

For serial entrepreneurs, ups and downs are a part of everyday life. This is no different for Atinirmal. But something else is. Giving a glimpse of his signature positive attitude, the young business conquistador says, “My response to every situation is it’s all good because even if it isn’t, I will make it better.” This attitude must have helped him a great deal when he started Yogi Fixes, a name that has managed to create a niche for itself in the uber-competitive and unorganized real estate market of Dubai.

Ideas are stale inside the box.

Although he calls UAE home, Atinirmal has his roots in India. Perhaps it made good business sense or a good sense of solidarity or both when he decided to launch Vesimi. It’s a platform for the fashion industry where “Indian designers get to showcase their unique creativity in Dubai.” For Atinirmal, thinking up ideas that have the potential for global change “required the need to think outside the box and get out of my comfort zone. I don’t want my comfort zone to cause me bed sores after all.” In short, if one does not keep reinventing the wheel, the journey will come to a stop.

They say ideas are the currency of today. But the question is, when they were not? From Atinirmal’s grandfather to his father to him and eventually, from him to his children, ideas have and will keep the boat of life afloat and raging forth. And as long as we remember that challenges make us stronger and strength gives us courage, we will keep on exploring new territories.
