An unobstructed visit to the EU is everyone’s dream. Every year tourists or other interested persons try to obtain such benefits. Holders of a special document have the opportunity to visit many countries that have signed the agreement with the same name. Now most travel enthusiasts wonder how to get a Schengen visa. MySchengen agency specialist Polly Johnson will tell you about the peculiarities of this procedure.

What is a Schengen Visa?

Before considering the issue of obtaining such a permit, it is worth defining it. So, a Schengen visa means a special document authorizing entry into the territory of a state, which is part of the Schengen area. Such a certificate is requested by a person in the country of his main stay. To extend the validity of the document, you need to leave the territory before its expiration date. In addition, it is necessary to prove financial solvency. Documents confirming the purpose of the trip must also be with you.

Schengen Visa Types

There is an enviable variety of entry permits. When issuing them, it is always necessary to specify what you are going to do on the trip according to the rules. Thus, all varieties of permit document have their own peculiarities. It is worth knowing about them for those who are going to apply for a permit. Everything depends on the type of trip, as well as on certain conditions.

What is remarkable about the Uniform Schengen Visa (USV)

People who have obtained this type of pass can stay in certain regions for no more than 3 months out of 6 months. Thanks to this type of EU Visa its recipients are able to stay in certain countries for short periods of time or freely stay at the airport on their way to countries that have not yet signed visa-free agreements. Thus, this document gives the right to stay on the territory of the European powers, which are parties to the relevant agreements.

What are the features of the Limited Territorial Validity Visa (LTV)

It refers to a transit or short-term pass that is issued for targeted travel of specific importance. It can be a humanitarian mission, establishing business cooperation with foreign partners, or international travel for politicians. The LTV ensures the entry, movement and exit of regions belonging to a certain jurisdiction.

National Visas: What are they for?

Entry documents can also be issued to people who come to work, study or permanently reside in a particular country that is covered by a visa-free agreement. Usually such visas are called national visas. It can be single-entry or multiple-entry, depending on the purpose of the said passes.

What are the privileges of Multiple-Entry Schengen Visas (MEV)

With this document, a person can visit the EU as many times as he wants, if he complies with all regulations. There is a division of the MEV visa document in terms of validity into:

  • 1 year;
  • 3 years;
  • 5 years.

The first option can be used if you have legally applied for three visas received during the past 2-year period. This all needs to be confirmed with documents that contain information about your earlier travels.

The three-year option is issued to recipients who have legally used their previous entry documents for one or two years. It can be used to visit the territories covered by the visa-free agreement as long as you like during the 3-year time period. However, you still have to stay for 3 months out of 180 days.

Five-year visa provides entry to 27 countries of the European Union countless times, if the rule of three months of a possible six-month stay has not been violated. Such a document is entitled to a person who has legally used a multiple-entry pass, which was valid for two years within three years.

What are the Schengen Visa Requirements

To get a permit for this order, you need to meet certain conditions. In addition, the following documents will be required:

  1. ID card. The document must not be overdue and have two blank pages.
  2. Questionnaire. You will have to thoughtfully read and fill out the form.
  3. Documents about your travel intentions. This can be a booked accommodation or an invitation from a relative or employer.
  4. Proof of funds. You need to show a bank statement that says you are a financially wealthy citizen.
  5. Two photographs. They must be of good quality and made recently. The main difference between them is the passport format and a white background.
