3 Secrets behind the Successful Music Career of Temple Naylor

The path to success for most of the top musicians and artists we know today was never linear. There were ups and downs and involved constant learning, hustling, and investing in their craft.

The journey of any great musician only becomes public knowledge once they are well known, but still most people never really know what it took them to get there. We can never be aware of the behind-the-scenes of an artist’s life because truth be told, it is not easy.

According to a leading musician and independent music artist from Miami, Temple Naylor, pitfalls and rocky hurdles dominate the music career. He doesn’t wish to discourage upcoming talents and shares three essential secrets that helped him prosper and maybe can help you all too.

Know How To Handle Your Fears

Fear is a global experience. You cannot avoid it, but you can learn how to deal with it. Fear is a negative emotion that can cripple you, ruin your potential, and completely destroy your career. As a musician, you are required to perform in front of people.

Many artists are fearful of that. According to Temple, if you wish to succeed as a musician, you must confront your fears and deal with them with sheer confidence. That is the secret to success.

Also, Know How to Handle The Praises

Temple says that while fears are to be faced boldly and confidently, praises should not be taken to the heart. Yes, as odd as it sounds, he says getting too confident due to praises is one of the reasons many artists fail to deliver. Overconfidence is the death of creativity and the music business is all about unleashing the creative side. Avoid focusing on the opinions of others as it can distract you from the real task which is creating music that you are so passionate about.

Maintaining The Balance Is The Key

Maintaining a balance between your life and your music career is highly important. Temple states that if you desire to succeed in the music business, you must learn the secret to maintaining balance. He says, “ It is hard to find balance. Being a musician is not like having a job. It’s like a lifestyle, a calling and the task is to not let it consume the other aspects of your life.”

Temple’s secret to a successful music career can help all aspiring artists on their journeys. The path is surely not easy, but guidance from experienced musicians like him can surely make it easier.
