3 Ways This New Site Is Disrupting The Adult Content Industry

Published

on

$3,075.64 is spent on porn every second on the Internet. The booming industry—estimated to be just under $13 billion—is a proven moneymaker in the age of sites like OnlyFans, where adult content creators can monetize their content via subscriptions. But as creators and audiences on these sites skyrocket, adult content creators are still operating in a shadowy economy, forced to deal with demonetization and the stigma that comes with the adult industry. That’s what newly launched site Peekaboo is changing, disrupting the industry in three major ways.

“Well, we believe that to help normalize and destigmatize the adult content industry, we have to give adult content creators the tools to feel empowered to run their own businesses,” says David Goelz, Peekaboo founder and finance expert.

  1. Peekaboo is offering a 90% payout for content creators.

“We’re living in an unprecedented age for adult content creators. Never before have you had such direct access to your fans–and so many ways to monetize your content and run your own business,” says Goelz. “It’s incredible that digital adult platforms have helped normalize and legitimize adult content…but recently, some of the platforms for content monetization have pulled the rug out from under their creators, leaving them high and dry. That’s why Peekaboo offers the industry’s highest payout–we only keep 10% and you take home 90%.”

Content creators on other subscription and monetization platforms like OnlyFans or on other adult content-specific sites like LoyalFans only take home 80% of what they make. Sites like Just For Fans keep 30%, meaning those creators only take home 70%. A difference of 10% may sound small, but it’s pretty huge–especially when it’s the money you made in your business.

  1. Peekaboo got rid of trolls for good.

“Opening up the ability for comments from viewers can be a good thing…but as we’ve seen across all industries and platforms, trolls will make themselves known wherever they can. That’s why we’ve said goodbye to trolls,” Goelz said. Peekaboo has no rating or comment system from viewers. Instead, your rating is based on sales, meaning your work is at the forefront, not the opinions of nefarious users or disgruntled customers. Keeping this level of professionalism is another stepping stone towards destigmatizing the industry and giving content creators a legitimate business.

  1. Peekaboo has robust search and tag features, making the user experience better for everyone.

Adult sites have a history of not looking great and being tough to navigate—but Goelz is changing that. Peekaboo is more user-friendly for both creators and viewers. “You know your own work best, so creators have the power to set your own tags for users who are browsing the site to find you,” Goelz says. “Viewers can search by category or keyword—a feature currently not available on other fan sites—with plans to add ‘favorites’ and a trending system. This means fresh, new content in viewers’ favorite areas is always easy to find, and they’ll never lose track of their go-to creators, either.”

Peekaboo is designed with darker tones to keep bright mobile device screens to a minimum. It’s also got an advanced messaging system, allowing everyone to communicate easily with creators (without costing anything for either side–no fees!).

“As an MBA graduate centered in finance, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 10 years in the field, it’s my goal to help creators achieve better strategic business practices. Peekaboo is the answer for creators and viewers frustrated with the current offerings available now,” Goelz said.

Viewers can visit peekaboou.com now and sign up to start viewing content. Content creators have the chance to win weekly raffles of between $250 to $1,000 for uploading pics and videos. For creators, the first month is free, with a 90% take-home after that: sign up here.
