Executive Voice

30 Years in the Real Estate World, Emerson Lima is an Expert in the Business. Find Out How He Did It Here.

Motivated by family experience, Emerson Lima jumped feet first into the world of real estate. Both his grandfather and father were raised in the real estate industry so it was very easy for him to take to the business and real estate world.

“I was motivated to start this business by my father and my Grandfather. In other words,  I was raised into the business. With over 30 years of experience in International Real Estate, becoming my passion, I started my career working for my father’s real estate company in Brazil, founded 65 years ago. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, I used to manage over 2,000 leased properties and then over 500 real estate agents, experiencing all departments till became Vice President of the company,” Emerson says.

From his 30 years of experience and his family ties, Emerson has learned the best ways to work in the business. He has differentiated himself from the competition around him by being willing to put in the work and more so than any other person. He is also unafraid to take on challenges.

“I do more than “my job.” I go the extra mile. I do my best to find good opportunities at fair prices, and show them that even though your commission is earned, you are their “partner” and look after them just as you would do to myself. This is what I call integrity.

I always showed gratitude for my business and the relationship being developed for over 30 years. I come across obstacles all the time, but obstacles make me more creative,” Emerson remarks.

Another important aspect of his business has been Emerson’s ability to maintain a good mindset. In a business like real estate, there are many ups and downs. In order to surmount them all, you need to keep a good head on your shoulders and a good mindset. This is tremendously important for real estate, but in any business, particularly one you have been working in for 30 years, this is a crucial aspect of any successful entrepreneur.

“A good mindset is crucial. It’s a way of thinking that enables you to uncover and see problems as opportunities, and then turning those opportunities into a business. It is an understanding that everything around us is the result of someone having an idea and then executing it. I’d say 100% important, will help you to minimize the importance of failure and rejection in your life,” Emerson states.

With 30 years under his belt, Emerson is still going strong. He has plenty of interesting projects planned for the future. So much has changed over the past year, so his big to do will be adapting himself and his business to face the switch to a more virtual environment.

“I’m adapting to changes, where the future of real estate is heading. The real estate industry is experiencing rapid changes due to the pandemic situation and new technologies and the creation of digital resources. While platforms like Zillow and Trulia have been out for several years, new platforms will continue to be released. I’m launching my new Real Estate website and a new office in Orlando this year,” Emerson details.
