Coastal & Esperance Trail – Western Australia

During the trip, you will get to see excellent views of an archipelago of islands, immaculate sandy beaches, and the Southern Ocean. Do not forget to stop over at Ravensthorpe, a very old mining settlement, and Hopetoun, a seaside village that leads you to the Fitzgerald National Park. This National Park is one of Western Australia’s last remaining great wildernesses. Accommodation options include cottages, motels, sheep stations, and caravan parks.

Southern Flinders Ranges in Southern Australia

This region is ideal for luxury tour lovers. It is situated about two hours north of the city of Adelaide. If you are in Adelaide, use Highway one to Port Wakefield, then proceed to Crystal Brook, and check out the ranges located on your right. If you like hiking, the area contains well-marked trails to guide you.

Along your trip, you will notice that there are lots of towns within touching distance, meaning that there are several spots to survey as you drive. Some of the towns include Laura, Stone Hut, Gladstone Wirrabara, Wilmington, Yacka, and Georgetown. Additionally, this area is well known for its cycle tourism owing to its extensive system of riding trails.

Nature’s Way – Northern Territory

In this region, the road named Nature’s way runs from Darwin via the Mary River wetlands to Kakadu National Park, a listed World Heritage Park. This trip takes you through a wilderness deep into the culture of the Aborigines and their pioneering history.

On your trip, you may also survey the saltwater crocodiles found in their natural habitat or go fishing for barramundi as you sail on a boat along the East Alligator River. More so, there are lots of Aboriginal rock art points, waterfalls, and lookouts for travelers to enjoy. Lastly, visit the Litchfield National Park which is known for its spectacular hiking paths.

Great Ocean Road – Victoria 

This road is famous for being one of the leading and most brilliant coastal drives in Australia. You will begin your trip at Geelong and travel to the Bellarine Peninsula, an area full of beautiful beaches, a captivating heritage, and a vast range of recreational opportunities. If you would like to sample the town’s maritime past, pay a visit to Queenscliff and savor the environment.

During your trip, you will come across Port Campbell which has had fierce winds and wild seas for thousands of centuries that have sculpted the coastline to form a chain of rocks that emerge out of the Southern Ocean. This feature is commonly known as the Twelve Apostles and is one of the most magnificent natural attractions in the country.

Southern Australia’s Simpson Desert

Making a trip across the Simpson Desert through Mount Dare and Birdsville in Southern Australia always makes an enthralling road trip.

A lot of caution will be required before taking this road trip. Ensure that you have sufficient fuel, food, and water for your trip. Inform at least two people that you will be taking the trip. Temperatures in this desert are usually extremely high during summer; they can reach up to 50 degrees Celsius. 

On your trip, you are guaranteed to view the steep red dunes decorated with vegetation, making a wonderful four-wheel driving experience. This desert covers an estimated area of 170,000 square kilometers and sprawls across the states of Northern Territory, Queensland, and Australia.
