“My name is Danielle Hu, online business coach, content creator, and host of The Wanderlover Podcast. I am a corporate escapee originally from New York but have been traveling full-time for the past 4+ years. Through following my passions, finding my entrepreneurship community, and making some bold life decisions, I now run a multiple six-figure online coaching and content creation business and have traveled to 60+ countries. My mission is to empower and mentor people through growing their own online brand and learning the business side of creativity, so they can also realize how possible it is to live a life by design.”
Tell us about your childhood and where you grew up?
I was born in Beijing, China, and grew up between the city and suburbs of New York. I was exposed to a variety of different communities and cultures at an early age, and coming from an immigrant background, for most of my life believed that corporate stability was the key to happiness. However, as many of my clients and community members can also relate to, that’s not true for a lot of us! I was very rebellious growing up, so always wanted things my way and would not settle for less. This has proved to be invaluable as an online business owner!
How did you get started as an entrepreneur?
After realizing that I did not want to work a corporate job for the rest of my life, I knew I wanted to start an online business and be able to travel the world whenever I wanted to. I took courses on what I wanted to learn, and executed from there, knowing that if I wanted different results, it would mean I would have to leave my corporate job and take an unconventional path. The core value of freedom is what drives all of my business decisions until this day, and is what I teach my clients to prioritize!
What is one business lesson you would tell a startup founder?
Learn from people who are where you want to be! Oftentimes, if you want the same results, you just need to follow the same process. Know that success will come and take inspired action from there.
