A&R Spotlight With Musician Niyah Smith

Hailing from Homerton, East London. This is Niyah Smith, who’s multifaceted when it comes to making his mark on the music industry. Niyah’s first introduction to music transpired at home, however with his own will and an intense love for music, he made the decision to become an expert when it came to recording and producing music. In a landscape that constantly evolves with time, Niyah desires to be a motivational example to upcoming executives in the industry, showing the significance in remaining zealous about reaching your goals.
Done Artist Management Course
At 29 years old, Niyah continues to advance to a new level, with a whole lot more to achieve. In 2020, he completed an A&R and Artist Management course at Notting Hill Academy which is partnered with Relentless Records. Niyah joined the music business school to get insight knowledge from a vocational perspective and to expand on his professional network.
Niyah Smith Always Inspires Others
Niyah continues to use his platform to highlight his journey and inspire others whilst providing expert knowledge to those with similar aspirations. In addition, one of his biggest passions is scouting new talent and developing them into stars. He is currently the A&R Manager for Dancehall/Rap Artist Stefflon Don’s subsidiary label 54 London, which is a part of Universal Music Group.
Working As An Artist Consultant
The A&R and Artist Manager has a roster of talent he holds in high regards including Shauna Shadae, he also works as a consultant to the likes of Shaqy Dread and fellow East London Native artist, SNE. The long-time friends recently released ‘No Kickers’. In the track, the concept stems from their humorous point of view as they reminisce of a time, they couldn’t afford Kickers due to being products of single parent homes. Niyah currently has plans to continue to release a second single with collaborations from upcoming talent on his roster.
The video for “no Kickers” has just surpassed the 100k mark on YouTube, what a milestone! Niyah said, “being a musician is not easy, but being a musician aswell as a artist and A&R manager is even harder”.
Niyah plans on launching his own digital marketing agency in partnership with Hot Money Studios founder Patrick “Hot Money” Osei. Patrick has worked with a string of acts from Stefflondon, Krept & Konan and many more, aswell as producing some big big records .This new model will help artists promote their music with a solid campaign , press releases and even social media building.
Niyah and Patrick both have lots of experience in the industry, this will be great for them both.
