Award-Winning Filmmaker Ryan Jordan Brings New Vision to Film Industry

Ryan Jordan is a new force in the film industry, renowned for her innovative approach as a producer, director, and creative director. Her journey into filmmaking began unexpectedly, when her talents as a tattoo and airbrush artist caught the eye of a production team in the special FX, makeup, and set design realm, sparking her passion for the art of storytelling through motion pictures.

With a background in business, project management, marketing, and fine arts, Ryan’s diverse skill set has been honed through contracts with numerous production companies, marketing and management firms, and record labels. Her entrepreneurial spirit and creative prowess paved the way for her to produce and direct her first feature film, “Bundles“, which garnered acclaim, winning awards, and was then picked up by BET Her.

Since then, Ryan has been sought after for a myriad of projects, including short films, commercials, music videos, episodic content, documentaries, and feature films. Her versatile style, curated from her roots as a multimedia and musical artist, infuses each project with a unique and captivating energy.

Indigo Republic Films, founded by Ryan Jordan and Marissa “Layla Khepri” Arguijo, is a woman-owned company and clubhouse of creatives that brings together a diverse team of Creative Directors, Writers, Visual Artists, Music Composers, and Marketing Professionals. Originally rooted in the music industry, the company has expanded into business, film, and brand development while maintaining a focus on music placement for film and television. Specializing in original productions, music videos, and live streaming and broadcasting, Indigo Republic Films aims to deliver innovative content. Through initiatives like The Indigo Exchange, the company aims to push boundaries and inspire audiences globally.

In addition to her film work, Ryan’s talent has been recognized beyond the silver screen. In 2023, she was selected to direct an ad spot for Queen Latifah’s Queen Collection at the BET Awards, a testament to her reputation as a visionary filmmaker.

Currently, Ryan is in post-production for her second feature film, “Seeds”, a politically charged thriller shot across diverse locations and featuring a multicultural cast. Despite the logistical challenges, including multilingual dialogue, pyrotechnics, and complex scenes, Ryan’s meticulous approach ensures the authenticity and impact of the film.

Beyond her directorial achievements, Ryan remains committed to developing original content and screenplays. Projects such as the sitcom pilot, “Bungie Bounces Back”, and the comedy special series, “Born 2be Canceled”, showcase her ability to push boundaries and entertain audiences with fresh and engaging narratives.

Born in D.C. and overcoming a tumultuous youth marked by adversity, Ryan’s journey is a testament to resilience and determination. Her experiences in detention and treatment centers instilled in her a passion for mental health awareness, driving her advocacy efforts and philanthropic endeavors.

Ryan is launching a new venture this year, Unicorn Inc., drawing from her rich background in filmmaking, project management, and entrepreneurship. Alongside its primary offerings, Unicorn Inc. is committed to fostering cultural initiatives through The Indigo Exchange, a component of the venture that aims to cultivate a community of creative collaboration. Unicorn Inc. is dedicated to offering comprehensive video production and digital marketing services tailored for businesses seeking to amplify their brand presence. At its heart, the company specializes in producing high-quality commercial content and capturing strategic events, providing businesses with creative solutions to showcase their stories and engage with their audiences more effectively.

Ryan Jordan’s multifaceted career as an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, published tattoo artist, project manager, and video producer showcases her ability to transcend boundaries. Her role as creative director of Outerloop Management and her dedication to service through non-profit initiatives underscore her commitment to empowering others and shaping the future of entertainment. From overcoming early struggles to achieving success in the film industry, Ryan’s story epitomizes resilience, creativity, and unwavering passion. As she continues to break barriers and inspire audiences worldwide, her legacy as an African American woman of the LGBTQ+ community, pioneering filmmaker, and advocate for change continues to grow.
