Bionic Mama: Inspiring People To Try New Things By Sharing Recipes And Thoughts About My Life With A Limb Difference.

Gigi Verrey is the woman behind the popular Instagram channel @VerysmartIdeas  and the Very Smart Ideas website. She has created brilliant ideas to inspire everyone. She primarily seeks to inspire people with limb differences to embrace everyday obstacles in the home and kitchen with ingenuity and humor.

We enjoyed running into Gigi Verrey to hear about her passions.

She wants people to grow and learn from their challenges instead of feeling defeated. When someone lets her know they can do that, too, it warms her heart. She knows she is on the right path because these simple acts of kindness impact others’ lives. She brings pragmatic advice and tips, emphasizing that little things can influence how we live and enjoy our lives.

Gigi’s life was full of obstacles. The first of which we should mention is that she had to stand up to a large health insurance company when they denied a claim to cover the cost of her bionic hand. The denial of the bionic hand initially occurred because of her age. After battling the insurance companies, she received approval for her bionic hand. At times, she may struggle to strain a pot of water and pasta into a colander, but challenges due to her limb difference have not stopped her.

Gigi also enjoys going downhill skiing, sailing, and raising a family. She is an incredible wife and mother to three sons as part of a blended family and she showcases them occasionally on Instagram. Her family has helped her experience and deeply understand the joys and challenges of running a household. They serve as the point of view on building an authentic and realistic life.

Earlier in her life, as a 23-year-old interior designer, she worked for some of the world’s top commercial furniture design manufacturers. Over the past 30 years, she has been a wealth manager in a male-dominated industry. Gigi has succeeded monetarily and ranked in the top 10% of her peers. In 2011 she authored “So, I got Fat,” a book focused on building a healthy lifestyle through healthy recipes, stories, advice, and tips.

Now, she is bringing all that experience together to bring awareness and support to the challenges of living with a limb difference.

Gigi became a social media creator in 2020 with a unique style and approach to reaching out to people across many demographics. She is authentic and tenacious, which has driven success to her channel. Additionally, she has a great sense of humor that has helped her relate and connect to others. Her quirky humor is on full display on her channel and, while there are serious topics discussed, she also keeps things lighthearted.

As a creator with a limb difference, she has focused on enhancing people’s lives and lifestyles. Her passion has developed tremendous growth across her social media platforms. She receives several direct messages daily, suggesting her audience loves a recipe or other suggestions for discussion topics. Followers often tell her they are inspired to pursue getting a bionic hand when they weren’t before my videos. Also, they tell her they showed their young children to show them they can do it too! Most importantly, it is when a parent informs her that she has inspired them to have hope that their child will be okay.

She wants others to see her as a caring, articulate, and funny creator working to bring awareness to different lifestyles in a way that resonates with people with limb differences and audiences overall. You can contact Gigi Verrey on Instagram. Listen to her exciting youtube channel and take suggestions for great eats. You can also see her Very Smart Ideas on her website.
