Building Your Authority – The Power of Positioning

Building Your Authority is the premier elite organization that has helped many brand names, entrepreneurs, individuals and companies scale to the next level. This is achieved through the power of positioning and leveraging your assets to build authority. What do I mean by that? Positioning is what differentiates an amateur from a professional in terms of income and reputation. They may both possess the same skills and have the same experience, but if it’s not leveraged correctly the income difference and opportunity difference can be huge. 

Examples of personal branding and authoritative content come in a range of formats. Currently the most popular, and what we, at Building Your Authority have found to be the most productive are, building: a YouTube Channel, Instagram following, TikTok following, getting featured in top 10 article features endorsed by Yahoo Finance, podcast appearances, speaking gigs and so on and so on. You often see this a lot with personal branding and that is why an entrepreneur like Gary Vaynerchukis such a huge advocate for it. Exploiting these platforms correctly allows you to be identified as the digital expert in your space. This is why people like Ryan Serhant in real-estate, and Gary Vaynerchuk in marketing, gain a massive percentage of clients. They are positioned in the right way to dominate their respective fields. 

Many entrepreneurs do a lot of this type of positioning, and in most cases all of it and often more. Leveraging PR is the quickest way from point a to point b. And the biggest people in your industry do it. So model it and use what works. Why reinvent the wheel when the tools you need are already out there? The question then is, if they do it why don’t you? Is it access? You don’t know how to do it? Or are you just unsure? Lastly, it’s important to take some time to research who the top people in your industry are, and find out what makes them tick. Google them and see what you can discover about them. Identify what articles they have out there. Have they made any podcasts? Have they been on stage? If so why? You need to understand exactly what it is that has allowed them to get ahead of you. If it’s experience that’s fine, you can build that over time. But I believe in most cases it’s limited self belief. 

Maybe the only thing stopping you is a bit of self belief? The winners had the courage to put themselves out there, which is why they are being rewarded. You have to do the same to be able to compete. Remember why you are running a business in the first place. It’s for the legacy, it’s for the impact. Yes you want to make more money, and do things for yourself and others and become the best possible version of yourself. That’s exactly what we do here at Building Your Authority.
