Carlo Parentela, Vaughan Entrepreneur, Brings 5 Star Luxury to Ontario

Carlo Parentela

Hotel Vie, which means “life” in French, is bringing luxury to Ontario in 2023.

Carlo Parentela, an entrepreneur and executive with more than four decades of experience in the hospitality industry, has announced the opening of this brand new luxury hotel in Vaughan.

For Carlo Parentela and his team, the hope is that this luxurious hotel inspires guests as a place to work, connect with family and friends, or just relax and enjoy life’s finer pleasures.

The first in a tribute portfolio of luxury hotels, Hotel Vie will feature 12 storeys, 261 guest suites, and 54 office suites, all overlooking an expansive lobby. Additionally, the hotel will include three restaurants, a five-star restaurant, rooftop restaurant and café, spa, wellness centre, private wine club, two event courtyards, indoor pool, and and rooftop pool and lounge.

But there’s one amenity that truly raises the “bar.”

“Sopra Ristorante Restaurant and Wine Bar isn’t just a place to grab a delicious meal with friends and co-workers; it’s going to be an experience that will take events to that next level,” Carlo shares. “The restaurant will offer a chic dining experience paired with nightly live entertainment and an unparalleled ambiance. It will also feature a main bar, alternate lounge seating, and semi-private seating throughout.  It’s an event restaurant.”

Plus, the space will be available for private bookings from meetings to weddings.

Of course, offering a luxurious wedding space is key for Hotel Vie, as Carlo Parentela has always had a passion for helping clients plan their big day.

“For me, the appeal of catering and hospitality has always been the strong relationships that I work so hard to develop with my clients. Planning a wedding is an incredibly personal experience, and I’m always honored and humbled to be a part of the journey with a new couple,” he shares. “Hotel Vie will help us open our doors to even more couples and create even more magical memories for years to come.”

Carlo Parentela has been in the hospitality business since the 1980s, working for his family’s catering business that began in the 1960s and ultimately taking over the organization. Known today as Château Le Jardin Event Venue, he is still managing the facility, as well as a few other projects too.

In fact, he recently developed a proprietary catering software system, CaterX, that is changing the hospital industry. This integrated CRM tool will enable users to manage every aspect of their catering business from sales, staffing, menu items, inventory, contracts, and more.

Plus, in 2009, Carlo purchased and revamped ‘Find a Banquet Hall’, an online directory for venue searches, and completely revamped the platform. He also created “Toronto’s Bridal Show”, which became the bridal show of the year to attend.

And, just this year, amidst the COVID-19 crisis, Carlo launched a new Juice Cafe… in shipping containers. From freshly roasted Guatemalan coffee, to healthy juices, smoothies, and even gravies, sauces, and dressings, Carlo is taking freshness to a whole new level.

But through it all, Carlo Parentela always comes back to one thing – carrying on his family’s legacy in the hotel industry. And for Carlo, Hotel Vie will be the pinnacle of that effort.

“Over the past 30 years, my life and career have taken off in directions I could never have imagined, and it has been an amazing ride,” shares Carlo. “Each new opportunity has brought a new set of challenges, and it has been invigorating to overcome them, and to continue to evolve and grow – as a hospitality professional and as a person.”
