Disrupting Healthcare – How Bttn Aims to Be the Future of Medical Supply

Seattle-based Bttn believes that the medical supply marketplace is broken. The healthcare system is old, antiquated, opaque, and the lack of transparency & innovation in the medical supply space only adds to the already sky-high cost of healthcare.
After seeing first-hand the many challenges that medical organizations of all types and sizes had during the global pandemic to not only find supplies, but also get fair prices for them, the co-founders JT Garwood and Jack Miller combined to build something better – much better. So, in March of 2021, they built Bttn to support underserved customers everywhere.
And since then, Bttn has been working aggressively to disrupt the healthcare industry by going after the U.S. wholesale medical supply market, which is predicted to be valued at $279 billion by the end of 2022, according to IBISWorld. This up & coming healthcare tech startup created a B2B e-commerce platform that offers a large variety of high-quality medical supplies, dental supplies, PPE supplies, surgical supplies, nursing home supplies, COVID-19 tests, and much more. Bttn often helps their customers save an average of 20% and 40% on their medical supply bills, while providing a far better ordering and shipping experience when procuring medical supplies at wholesale prices from only top suppliers.
Coming off a $1.5 million seed round in June 2021, Bttn announced in late August of 2021 that it secured another $5 million extension, led by FUSE, to the round to give it a $26.5 million post-money valuation. Since then, Bttn has been growing fast and was also recently recognized by Built In Seattle’s 22 Startups to Watch too.
Bttn recently celebrated their first birthday. Now boasting of 30 new strategic partnerships, hundreds of new customers, and 36 new employee hires, along with the notable Steve Nielsen (30-year healthcare industry veteran & former CEO at McKesson Medical) joined as an advisor in December and was just appointed as President at Bttn in February.
Mr. Nielsen has been an advisor to a wide range of healthcare companies across the spectrum, including medical & surgical products distribution, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
Due to their compelling offerings & impeccable customer service, Bttn is currently the preferred medical supplier for over 30 healthcare associations and growing across the country. In addition to expanding into dental supplies, Bttn. is also attracting a lot of interest and new customers every month from senior living facilities, home and hospice care too.
As Bttn continues to produce stellar results with compounding business growth by disrupting an antiquated medical supplies market, bttn is building automation and transparency like no other wholesale medical supplier.
With Bttn, medical supply procurement supply teams can count on better results by simply being a customer, as these are just a few of the core medical supply solutions Bttn brings to the table.
Guaranteed supplies & no backorders
Medical supply distributors have become too comfortable placing large orders knowing the inventory is inaccessible. No more sifting through paper catalogs to pick supplies. Bttn offers real-time catalog updates, so buyers know what supplies are always available.
Reinventing the medical supply procurement process
They’ve moved an archaic ordering process to a familiar e-commerce interface with digital ordering baked in at every step.
Transparency with better data
Bttn provides order tracking, data insights, and price transparency at every step of the buying process.
Automates your ordering
Bttn provides an option to subscribe to the most common supply purchases, set a delivery schedule, and automatically order on a schedule.
Advanced payment options
A true e-commerce platform that has built-in PO & Invoicing capabilities with Net 30/60 terms available for all their customers.
Free shipping & logistics coordination
Bttn ensures that medical supplies are sent where you need them, even across multiple locations, and the shipping is always free.
Bridging big data insights, ecommerce technology, and incredible customer service sure would be quite the refresher and bring a lot of value to an old industry still running on spreadsheets and file cabinets. We don’t know what the future holds, but Bttn might just be the future of medical supply for much of the healthcare industry.
