DJ DX Leads the Music Industry into the Metaverse

Robert Van Liew, better known as DJ DX, is trailblazing for artists in the Metaverse. A multitalented resident DJ for The Hourglass which provides a one-of-a-kind virtual concert experience in the Metaverse. Live-streaming in the heart of the Festival District in Decentraland, The Hourglass showcases the best artists in the Richmond & Virginia area and plunges them into the world of Web3, introducing them to the limitless possibilities that the Metaverse can provide for artists careers. We’ve seen the future of live music and it belongs to the DJs.
It’s sort of the new golden age for live-streaming as DJ DX becomes a pioneer among other big names to headline live events in the Metaverse. Virtual experiences have become more popular around the world since the beginning of the pandemic due to in-person concerts being canceled.
”A typical day for me is waking up at 5 am on some days or not getting much sleep at all. I spend a lot of time working from home. I own my own company “DJ DX LLC” which has a division that services and helps businesses, artists, entrepreneurs in social media marketing and branding. The other part of my day usually is spent writing, remixing, recording, and promoting myself daily. When I am not in the studio or working from home I am either shopping or spending valuable time with my daughter and son, since performing live has been such a restriction because of covid. – I love and missed performing, I am thankful for The Hourglass Sessions.
I still have hopes and wishes to travel the world and perform every night again,” he confirms, so the closest thing to experiencing travel right now is through virtual reality “connecting with the world in a way that I could inspire others to not give up on their dreams because of the times we’re in, means everything to me. I just want to create from the heart and mind and inspire others to be themselves.”
DJ DX and French/Canadian producer, Highrichbeats, collaborated over the past year on the Doo-wop Drill Rap song “Blessings”. Fusing genres and creating a nostalgic sound with heartfelt lyricism. DX remains unique scratching on the turntables while rapping and says he will continue pushing the boundaries of music and creating in his style. He’s also working on new projects that will be released sometime this year.
