Exclusive Interview With The Rising Artist

In the vibrant heart of Louisiana, where the rhythms of jazz and the spirit of Creole festivals blend into the air, there’s a voice that rises above the melodies—a beacon of storytelling and lyrical prowess. Meet Nune, also known in the echelons of music and streets of Opelousas as Mr. Propane. A name that ignites curiosity, pronounced “Noon,” carries the legacy of a town rich in history, struggle, and triumph. Opelousas, a gem just 20 miles north of Lafayette, is not just a place on the map for Nune; it’s a canvas of memories, lessons, and the unyielding spirit of the African American community.

As we dive into the world of Mr. Propane, he takes us on a journey through the soundscape of his latest artistic explorations. “Backstabbers” and “My Empire” stand as twin pillars, showcasing the duality of his musical identity. “Backstabbers,” a jazz-infused R&B hip-hop masterpiece, was born from a creative synergy with Michael Trammell and Gabe Russell, painting melodies that speak to the soul. On the other flip of the coin, “My Empire” shifts gears into a trap/alternative rap anthem, with Gucci Mane bringing an electrifying dimension to the track. Each song, a narrative woven with the threads of passion and innovation, reflects Nune’s relentless pursuit of musical evolution.

But what truly sets Nune apart? It’s the depth and breadth of his music. Echoing the voices of social justice, spiritual enlightenment, and political empowerment, his songs are more than just tunes; they are messages, meant to uplift, inspire, and provoke thought. From the anthems of legends like 2Pac to the soulful vibes of Neo-Soul, Nune’s influences are as varied as they are profound.

The journey to music was not just a choice for Nune; it was a destiny calling him to share his vision with the world. From the moment he laid down his first track, music became his mission—a mission to inspire, to challenge the status quo, and to bring about change through the power of his words and melodies.

Away from the microphone, Nune’s creativity knows no bounds. A digital artist and soon-to-be-published author, he explores various avenues to express his vision and share his insights on navigating the music industry.

As we look to the horizon, Nune teases us with whispers of upcoming projects. “Don’t Judge Me,” a collaboration with Breana Marin, promises to envelop us in a blanket of R&B serenity. Meanwhile, his book, “Music Business Essentials,” awaits its grand unveiling, promising to be a beacon for aspiring artists navigating the complex waters of the music industry.

In closing, Nune extends his gratitude to the global community of dancers and fans who have embraced his work, particularly the vibrant energy of “My Empire.” His message is simple yet profound: keep dancing, keep supporting, and stay tuned for the melodies yet to come. Follow his journey, be part of his story, and witness the evolution of Nune Aka Mr. Propane, a true maestro of the modern age.

Discover the universe of Nune and let his music take you on a journey you’ll never forget.

What is your name and what city do you rep?

I go by Nune Aka Mr. Propane, pronounced Noon, and I’m from Opelousas, Louisiana which is about 20 miles North of Lafayette. Definitely have to rep that “Op” as that’s where I grew up as a kid and teenager.  As I grew older, I began to understand the complexity of Opelousas’s history, our struggles and triumphs, its pain and beauty. We’re known for our annual Creole Festival, vibrant music scene, and spirited church gatherings, which was a constant reminder of the resilience and creativity of our people. It was there, in the heart of Louisiana, that I learned the true meaning of heritage, struggle, and the unbreakable spirit of the African American community.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest singles are “Backstabbers” ft Fedarro and “My Empire”. Two incredible singles that reflect the different sides of my artisty. On the one hand, with Backstabbers, I created a jazz inspired melodic R&B hip-hop mashup which was put together creatively with help of Michael Trammell, my manager along with Gabe Russell (GabeGotbeats), our mix Engineer in LA. “My Empire” changes the vibe completely with a more modern mainstream “Anthem” type Trap/Alternative Rap vibe featuring my first Superstar feature in Gucci Mane. Through collaboration with Anno Domini Nation, we were able to secure his feature and created something different, yet highly engaging sonically. Adoption of the records have been great and the numbers are gradually moving up.

What is unique about you and your music?

A majority of my music incorporates a lot of social injustice, political empowerment, and spiritual themes in them. I touch on subjects a lot of artist don’t speak on and I write in an engaging way crafting audible stories you can follow and get lost in. The depth of the lyrics can sometimes take you back as I really put in real game and lessons in my music. I try to inspire others to go against self destruction by creating positive uplifting songs to vibe with while at the same time crafting songs that can reach the mainstream audience. So much of my music is unreleased but I have a few albums ready to go as we continue to build brand awareness and build a solid fanbase.

What shaped your music?

My music was shaped by the changes in the Music culture. We went from “Fight the Power” to “Smokin on the Dead” which was a trend I ain’t never get a vibe with. I feel the message a song has, along with its influence has a “Power” many don’t understand or value. We are getting farther and farther from appreciating LIFE and we are mentally being shaped to be numb to the violence. I always appreciated uplifting music like from 2Pac, K-Rino, and the story telling of legends like Scarface of the Geto Boyz. Today, artist like Locksmith, D. Smoke, and Dee-1 are similarly creating music with uplifting and powerful lyrics.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

After I created my first few recordings and became comfortable with expressing my thoughts and values, it became an obsession to share the motivational music I was writing creatively. Over time the passion became a burden trying to break into the mainstream and gain an audience, before becoming a Spiritually guided quest to make change with my music and finding purpose.

What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to all types of music but love Neo-Soul the most. Artist like Raheem Devaughn, Jill Scott, and Musiq Soulchild stay in my playlist due to just good vibes free of dark energy in a lot of Rap music these days. Rap wise, K-rino stay on deck, whose my biggest influence musically. Artist like Dee-1, Locksmith, and Bizzle got me excited with their successes so I steady support their missions.

What inspires you to write music?

Music comes from the soul and being open with your truest thoughts. I love releasing those thoughts and the value of creating moments in space that you can listen to over and over again. The melodic backdrops intertwines with the deep lyrics creating a sensation unlike anything else.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

I am also a digital artist who works on Album Covers, motion graphics, and videography. Besides music, it stands as my other creative endeavor which I love doing. “Creating something from Nothing” I also just finished my first book “Music Industry Essentials” which will be published soon detailing the ins and outs of the music business with explanations of how to avoid the mistakes I made as an independent artist.

Happiness to you is…

finding true Peace: Peace of Mind, Peace of Spirit, Peace of Love

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

Avoid scammers, simple as that. People will see you as an opportunity and will finesse you. Learn the game, trust no one, and Order my Book when it comes out to help you navigate the industry, especially if independent and emerging as an artist. www.mrpropane.net is my Official website which will announce Release date for Harcover, Ebook, and Audiobook Versions.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

My next sing is called “Don’t Judge Me” featuring Breana Marin, whose an incredible singer/songwriter out in LA. The single is just full of good vibes and chill energy with its R&B influences. My Book “Music Business Essentials” will be released soon, so keep an eye out for the release announcement. My management, “Iconic Worldwide Entertainment Group”, started by CEO Michael Trammell and industry vet David Cobb, have multiple Live Events planned in Atlanta, San Francisco, and a concert in Lafayette I’ll be hosting. We also having Rolling Loud coming up where we will be hitting the stage so excited for all the new developments.
