FreezeCrowd is the Friendly and Secure way to “Break the Ice” with College Communities

Eric Leebow founded FreezeCrowd to provide undergraduate college students, graduate scholars, and alumni with a safe community to stay connected. The platform is open for people with an educational email address to find peers from their institute and other colleges and universities worldwide with similar interests. The visionary idea emulates a school yearbook to give users an interactive and unique social networking experience to break the ice.
How FreezeCrowd Works
Upon signing up, users will receive an email to activate their accounts. When logged in, FreezeCrowd members can update their profile interests and post photos from their shared social gatherings — through its “freeze” tagging technology, where people are tagged and notified of their presence in the photo.
The photo provides a way for people to interact and start a conversation through speech bubbles and ice breakers within the photo image. So, if you took a group photo with people in the cafeteria and want to touch base with someone you might not know very well, you can use the photo chat feature in FreezeCrowd to break the ice with your newfound connection.
The platform prevents bullying in two ways. First, users need to sign up using their official school email, and users register with their real name or nickname. For example, the site allows someone named Jennifer to use Jenny.
The second way FreezeCrowd guards users from bullying is the fact that users primarily talk to each other via the photos posted. Since the interaction takes place within the digital boundaries of the photos and can only include the people within the photos, people generally approach conversations with care.
Additionally, Eric prioritized FreezeCrowd to be a humane technology. The application does not intend to get people to spend their whole day on the platform. It also does not currently exist as a downloaded phone application, nor is it set up to send irrelevant or constant notifications. Additionally, the platform provides many privacy features. The FreezeCrowd site is not scraped by search engines meaning that user profile information is not seen online outside of FreezeCrowd. Users also have the opportunity to set profile and photo privacy settings individually.
Overall, FreezeCrowd wins by providing the fluidity to make and keep real-life connections with college friends and protecting its members. Eric Leebow and FreezeCrowd are pushing the mechanics behind social media into an equitable and humane community space.
Eric’s Journey to FreeCrowd
When video games first came on the scene, Eric was hooked. He enjoyed the semi-immersive experience of moving characters through a story and the challenge of traversing obstacles. He continued to play them with friends in college.
After receiving a phonebook to keep in contact with students from one program and a picture book from another, he came up with the idea for people to be able to interact through the images in the book. At the time, technology was somewhat limited, but he continued to pursue the idea as time passed and fully developed and launched the beta version of FreezeCrowd in 2011.
Eric and his team are consistently improving the platform, and it has attracted members from over 1000 colleges and universities on a global scale. Overall the platform has been a success. Users love the absence of ads, the privacy and security provided, its ease of use and focus on allowing people to build relationships with its innovative features and simplicity alike.
FreezeCrowd has streamlined the modern concept of social media, turning it into a friendly, useful tool without breeding grounds for negativity, fake news, irrelevant advertisements and other challenges public social media platforms face. So if you are looking for a secure way to reach out to friends, acquaintances and even make new friends join FreezeCrowd to break the ice today!
