From Managing Properties To Getting You Into Yours: The Ricardo Roach Story

For many people, life changed when COVID-19 hit. Many professionals had to adapt to the situation in order to maintain their livelihood, switching careers or changing their field entirely! Like the law of nature expresses, only those willing to adapt can thrive in this new normal.

In Ontario, Ricardo J. Roach used to manage Airbnb properties and run an electronic e-commerce business prior to the pandemic, and he made quite a comfortable living doing those two things, but it wasn’t to last. “I had a thriving Airbnb business catering to vacation travelers. But the next year, I had to close down my business due to COVID and the restrictions on travel.” Like so many other people, Ricardo had to flip the switch, and he decided if he couldn’t bring people into Airbnbs, he’d help bring them to their dream homes instead.

 

By flipping the switch, I mean Ricardo changed his career path almost overnight. He acknowledged a passion for finance, and decided to pursue a career in mortgages. “The next year, I had time to reflect on what my real passion was and decided to focus on my passion for finance and helping others with their financial goals.” Now, the Ontario native is a mortgage broker on the rise with The Mortgage Coach brand, but he’s in the middle of establishing his very own. “I was inspired to start my own mortgage company, Mortgages With Ricardo, as I realized there were a lot of people who needed help with their finances, and I wanted to help them.” 

 

Ricardo further explains what he wants to accomplish with his newfound career, sharing with us a common pain-point his clients experience, “Most people don’t know that Mortgage Agents have access to better rates than the banks offer. Choosing the wrong mortgage can cost you thousands of extra dollars. Mortgage Brokers are trained professionals who can help you save on your mortgage dollar and build your wealth. My primary goal is to find the most suitable lending products for our clients and provide a great service throughout the loan process”

 

He continues, “I’m an independent, trained professional licensed to represent and provide my clients with the best advice for their mortgage needs. I can provide the best rate possible, as I have access to thousands of mortgage products from top lenders such as TD Bank, Scotiabank, MCAP, and alternative lenders such as Home Trust and Equitable.” Yet, with all those big names in his impressive catalogue of lenders, Ricardo wants his clients to rest assured that “I work for my client, not the banks.”

 

We also asked Ricardo what special factor he could offer his clients to distinguish his mortgage service from all the competitors out there. He revealed that his trump card is a state-of-the-art management software that allows him to stay on top of his clients’ progress, “We have an amazing software management system that walks the client through every stage of the mortgage process, keeping them and myself up-to-date every step of the way. Through this type of technology I am able to offer clients a service that is a cut above all others, and an exceptional experience overall.”

 

The shift in focus and work has helped Ricardo find a new lease on life, as he tells us his “life is pretty busy now as I am in the process of building my new mortgage agent business. I am marketing, networking, building relationships with clients and lenders. I enjoy it as I enjoy meeting new people and helping them along their life journey.”

 

Change isn’t always bad. Just look at Ricardo. Since he stopped bringing vacationers to his Airbnb homes, he’s found his place bringing home buyers into their dream homes instead.
