From Navy Mechanic to Real Estate Investor: Ryan Love’s Journey to Owning His Time

Real estate investment is considered one of the wealth-building vehicles to achieve financial stability. It’s one of the easiest ways to earn a passive income from rental properties. Financial freedom from real estate investment allows you to control your time and spend it on other essential things like families and businesses. This is the story of Ryan Love, who plans to transition from a navy nuclear mechanic to a real estate investor in his quest to own his time and enjoy financial freedom.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Ryan discovered a new career path in real estate to take control of his time. He attended Temple University to pursue a finance degree. Later, Ryan realized college wasn’t ideal for him, and he joined the navy as a nuclear mechanic. He found nuclear mechanics enjoyable as he could challenge himself at work and visit numerous countries and live in different places, including Charleston, SC, Jacksonville, FL, and Hampton Roads, VA.

However, family life changed Ryan’s perspective on his navy career. He didn’t have control over his time and couldn’t meet all his financial ambitions. At this point, he knew he had to look for a career to give him control over his time and give his family a better life. He ventured into real estate, and over time, he learned all the marketing dynamics of the lucrative industry. Notably, Ryan has scaled to become a renowned real estate investor mentoring people new to the real estate industry.

Mentorship is vital if you want to thrive in any career, and the real estate industry is no exception. Ryan was ambitious to venture into the real estate industry and joined the Subto community to walk the real estate journey with them. He says the success he achieved in the real estate industry was a result of mentorship in the Subto community. “That collaborative environment is the biggest ‘cheat code’ to having success early. It was immediately obvious within the Subto community and has been a focus for my business,” Ryan says.

Ryan has achieved multiple notable accomplishments. He says his most significant success has been figuring out how to systematize and automate his business. He says that automation will assure him that even with limited time, he can still make a fortune from his businesses. Ryan also purchased one long-term rental property and has transacted some wholesale deals in the industry. In addition, he has ventured into the Airbnb market and is currently rehabbing one of his properties to offer Airbnb services.

Beyond being a real estate expert, Ryan believes in making an impact on the people he works with. “A big part of my business is working with real estate agents. We’ve been able to offer multiple options for the agents to get the best offer for their clients. It’s been great working with agents to learn and navigate the changing market,” he adds.

Ryan wants people to know success requires consistency. He says taking consistent action and walking the journey with mentors and peers will help you achieve your dreams. So many people fail to achieve their dreams because they walk alone, but Ryan shares that some good people exist to help you as long as you take action.

Ryan says his driving force is putting whatever he learns into action, which has seen him scale to different levels. He is still working on finishing his first Airbnb rehab and automating more of his acquisitions business. Additionally, he hopes to be a bridge for other people aspiring to join the real estate space.
