From South Africa to the Global Stage: The Meteoric Rise of Sashin Govender

At age six, future prodigious entrepreneur Sashin Govender was already a chess grandmaster, playing the game masterfully throughout South Africa. By age 24, he had amassed a multi-million dollar fortune. His moves from childhood chess wizard to unfathomably successful CEO, philanthropist, best-selling author, and world-renowned speaker are not unrelated, and exploring the journey that Govender has ventured is sure to provide any prospective entrepreneur with the inspiration needed to carve their path.
Born in 1994 and raised in the unassuming margins of Durban, South Africa, Govender experienced his first wave of adversity when his parents separated in 1996. Although only two years old and unaware of the circumstances around him on the surface, the first years of his life were molded by uncertainty, creating an innate sense of independence and leadership. Four years later and Govender was already developing his strategic thinking. He had mastered the game of chess through hard work at an early age, and his calculated intellect was only deepened by his father, who introduced him to books, self-development programs, and mentors by the age of eight. His immense future success is self-attributed to his strategic thinking process, which draws from the chessboard, and helps him plan 15 moves ahead.
Between 2004 and 2011, Govender continued to toil and grind from the ages of 10–17. He went from formulating his first business in sales to starting a business making and selling chocolate, which ultimately brought in nearly three times the average monthly income in South Africa. At the age when most of his peers were graduating high school, Govender had already begun partnering with a direct sales travel and tech company, where he assisted the business with its expansion into 42 countries, garnering five million, reacquiring customers and securing $4 billion in worldwide sales. Govender is the only individual to reach the highest level of the company four times.
From 2012 to 2021, Govender was featured on the cover of VOYAGER magazine and spoke on stages in Singapore; Arlington, TX; Dallas, TX; Malaysia; Charlotte, NC; Los Angeles; and Bucharest, Romania, reaching at least 75,000 entrepreneurs from all over the world. None of his successes, which include becoming one of the world’s youngest multi-millionaires at 24 years old, came without relentless hard work under his motto “work like you’re broke.” One of Govender’s most notable contributions to date is the brainchild of his unique vision, The Millionaire Student (TMS).
Founded in 2019, TMS helps people master the art of paradigm shifts, sales and networking, digital marketing, and psychology via an online educational system that offers courses, podcasts, books, and seminars. Govender has been a consistent leader and innovator since his formative years, and his invaluable messages have now reached the ears of countless individuals across six continents and over 90 countries.
Currently helping numerous entrepreneurs find their way through The Millionaire Student, Govender is the walking embodiment of grit, innovation, and leadership. His inspiration continues to reach millions worldwide, steering their determination through his positivity and messages based on what he calls the four pillars of mastery: Health, Spirituality, Wealth, and Relationships.
