From the Battlefield to the Comedy Stage: Unraveling Ryan Archuleta’s Dynamic Transition to Comedy Stardom

When Ryan Archuleta arrived in the comedic circuit, it wasn’t an easy transition and required unrelenting perseverance. As a young kid, he was known to be the class clown who would never shut up. When he graduated high school, he took a life-changing turn and enlisted in the Army. The Army taught Ryan discipline and an impressive work ethic and subjected him to other cultures. Shortly after the military, he attended and graduated college with his degree in accounting. College was an opportunity for Archuleta to learn business and what it takes to run a business. While working for the prestigious Deloitte as an accountant, he hit up some open mics after work and tested his comedic skills. Comedy was a challenging transition but something Ryan needed help to walk away from. Faced with challenges and uncertainty, he quit his full-time job and pursued comedy full-time. He started his Premium Vending machine business while simultaneously pursuing his career in comedy to make ends meet.

Several years later, the hard work has paid off. Ryan developed his craft, manifesting a hybrid skill of observational learning through comedic trial and error. In the past few years, Archuleta has performed in iconic venues such as The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store in La Jolla, Madhouse Comedy Club, The Fourth Wall, The Ha-Ha, Santa Monica Playhouse, Bold Brewery, San Pasqual Winery, and working on his upcoming performance at a local casino in Southern California. Archuleta’s comedic style has gone from portraying young drinking dysfunctional relationships and addressing current political issues to having the charm that prevents dividing his audience. His straightforward comedic gift could make the most awkward introvert laugh aloud. In a recent interview, Ryan expressed:

“My chaotic and unaccomplished love life is where I get most of my material. Comedians use an art form that imitates real-life situations. I don’t discriminate against anyone; I hate everyone equally. It’s all about keeping it raw, fun, and relatable when I perform.”

He’s looking forward to expanding his “Laugh with Us” Productions and mentoring more young upcoming comedians. Archuleta understands it’s imperative to start mentoring the younger generation and embracing the world through their experiences. He used his comedic skills to unite, inspire, and educate everyone, regardless of race and socioeconomic status. You can catch some of his upcoming performances in San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York. Ryan Archuleta is the comedic genius securing his title as the “King of Catastrophe.”
