Guyanese Billionaire Azruddin Mohamed Is Inspiring Guyana’s Next Generation

Success isn’t about achieving financial goals—it is about enjoying life on your terms and adding to your skills. Billionaire entrepreneur and sports enthusiast Azruddin Mohamed is a perfect example here. Azruddin has numerous businesses that cover multiple sectors, such as real estate, construction, foreign exchange, and gold. These successful businesses have made him one of the richest men in Guyana, giving him heavyweight authority and influence. This has made Azruddin a role model for many aspiring entrepreneurs in Guyana. He is not just any successful businessman who loves to splurge on luxury cars and accessories but someone who has made immense contributions towards the development of sports in his country. Here’s his story.

Born to successful entrepreneur Nazar Mohamed, cars and business were not foreign to Azruddin, especially from a very young age. He grew up in an atmosphere where he was nurtured to become the successful entrepreneur he is today. Azruddin started driving at the age of 9 when kids of his age were playing video games. He would drive his father’s cars after washing them, and that’s when he developed a passion for motorsports.

This passion followed Azruddin into adulthood, and he now owns multiple incredible vehicles like 3 GTRs which range in horsepower from 2,000hp to 2500hp. These cars are undefeated in races throughout all of Guyana and the Caribbean. He also recently added a new addition to the racing fleet, a Pro Mod Ford Mustang with 4000hp. Another accomplishment of Azruddin is that he was the first person to bring a Lamborghini into Guyana, his Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

His love for fast cars and luxury vehicles doesn’t define his fascination for racing events. It was developed recently at an international meet when Azruddin witnessed a car race and instantly knew he had to venture into this sphere. Back then, the car racing scene in Guyana was not as well developed. He started by buying several GTR motorcars and a fleet of superbikes. Azruddin also employed his connections overseas and hired top drivers from the United States, Canada, and England to build his own car racing team in Guyana.

This was only half the job done because the motor racing infrastructure in Guyana hardly met international standards. Azruddin made it his mission to revive the state of sports in Guyana, especially motor racing. He started by improving the drag race pad, which was in a deplorable state. He personally invested in upgrading other facilities as well to make Guyana’s car racing scene more competitive and on par with international standards.

Today, Azruddin has his race car team in Guyana, which is not only his passion but also a source of revenue. He is equally active in boosting other sports areas in his country, like Football, by organizing and sponsoring tournaments. Besides his ventures into the sports industry, Azruddin owns a gold mining business, construction companies, and several other enterprises. Last year, he also ventured into a partnership project on Vreed-en-Hoop shore. The project includes a fabrication yard, offshore components, umbilical preparation and spooling yard, administrative buildings to house offices and modernized logistics center, warehousing, an area for a helipad, a wharf, berths, and a dry dock.

Azruddin attributes his success to his willingness to work hard and learn new things. To him, success is not measured by the yardstick of wealth. It is all about enhancing your knowledge and skills throughout your life, and that’s how you grow. In the coming years, Azruddin wants to introduce more innovative business ventures in Guyana, which will not only help scale his businesses but also contribute to his country’s development.
