How Amira Irfan Turned Her Hobby Blog, A Self Guru, Into a Million-Dollar Business

After working ten years as a business lawyer, Amira Irfan quit her 9 to 5 job and built a seven-figure blogging business. In her first year of blogging, she earned $210,000 while also working a demanding full-time job as a lawyer. What started out as a hobby blog that she worked on in the evenings and on weekends while working her day job grew into a million-dollar blog that allowed her to not only quit her job, but also pay off $150,000 in debt in her first year of business.

Now, through her expert blogging and legal tips on her blog, A Self Guru, she helps other bloggers and entrepreneurs in doing the same while legally protecting their businesses.

Amira shares her top 3 tips on how anyone can blog their way out of a 9 to 5 job and start a successful business:

1. Choose your blog niche

According to Amira, while not every blog needs a niche, narrowing your focus will not only help you establish yourself as an expert in your field, but it will also help you make money blogging. Her blog, for example, only focuses on legal and business tips for entrepreneurs.

Once you have determined your blog niche, create content that addresses the issues that your target audience is facing,” Amira advises. Discover what people are searching for on Google and create content that answers their questions.

2. Increase Blog Traffic

“More visitors to your website result in more sales, whether affiliate sales or sales from your own products,” says Amira. She drives traffic to her blog by focusing on organic and paid traffic sources such as Pinterest, Google, and Facebook.

In the beginning, she concentrated solely on increasingorganic traffic through Pinterest and Google, as these are the most important traffic sources for bloggers.

3. Ways to Monetize Your Blog

When asked how she monetizes her blog, Amira stated that you should always diversify your blog income sources, and she shared the three most important ways her blog earns money: affiliate marketing, sponsorships, and her digital legal templates for entrepreneurs.

Amira is passionate about developing her own digital products that solve people’s problems. “Creating your own products gives you more control over your blogging income and allows you to scale quickly,” she says. For example, her target audience includes both new and seasoned entrepreneurs who are concerned about the legal aspects of their business. As a result, she developed low-cost DIY legal templates that they can instantly download and use to make their businesses legal in as little as 30 minutes without hiring a lawyer, saving them a significant amount of time and money. Amira’s legal templates are loved by thousands of entrepreneurs, as evidenced by her 5-star customer rating.

Affiliate marketing is another way Amira makes more than $20,000 a month. Affiliate marketing is the practice of recommending other people’s products in exchange for affiliate commissions. She suggests recommending products on your blog that you have personally used and trust.

Sponsorships and collaborations with brands are the third way Amira earns money from her blog. Once you’ve established an audience and sufficient traffic to your blog, brands will pay you to create sponsored content for them, whether it’s blog posts or social media posts.

Amira also has her own Facebook group, A Self Guru – Biz Blog Community, in which she freely shares herblogging, business, and legal tips. But the best way to accelerate the progress of your blog is to schedule a call and work one-on-one with Amira to get answers to your blogging questions as well as important legal informationon how to secure your business. Through her blog coaching services, she teaches new bloggers how to start a blog and make six figures in their first year, just like she did.
