How Artist Bella Blaq Took Her Career to New Heights

Up-and-coming artist Bella Blaq is one to watch today, and she has much in store for her fans throughout 2022. Born Shekira Snipes in Blakely, Georgia, Bella always had an interest in music, especially hip hop. Taking inspiration from greats like Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah, and Missy Elliot, Bella likes to infuse her own modern twist with the old-school hip hop sounds to create her own unique style.

Bella was able to grow her platform over the years, and has really taken off recently with the help of social media. Now with over 1.3 million followers on TikTok, Bella has been able to take her career international. Originally starting in a girls group then being part of an all male group, Bella has been on the scene for a while now, gaining experience and industry acumen along the way.

Even with her recent success, she doesn’t forget how hard she battled to get where she’s at today. She states:

“I’m still the same girl that sold CDs in the parking lots and at events. I’ve just learned to move with time and be real and transparent with your fans.”

Despite all the trials throughout her life, Bella is able to reflect on her journey and give herself encouragement to keep pushing. Being a single mom since the age of 16, Bella never had it easy, and a severe car wreck that she was a part of in 2019 didn’t help either. Coming away from the crash with doctors telling her she’d never walk again, Bella knows what it takes to dig deep and find motivation within herself.

More than anything, Bella appreciates her fans, the Loto Gang, and tries to show them love in whatever ways she can. She understands how meaningful it can be for fans to receive a message or comment response from her, so she tries to do so whenever possible.

Her advice to those coming up on the scene today is to always move in silence. She knows the importance of protecting your gifts and mind, and surrounding yourself with a strong environment that promotes success. Above all, she stresses focus and consistency in order to make it to the next level in your career.

Recently hitting the charts on both Apple Music and Shazam, Bella shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon and has a powerhouse lineup of releases set for 2022. She is currently working on collaborations with multi-platinum producer, Epikh Pro, and will be releasing a new single titled “Keep Goin”.
