Entrepreneurs and business owners, the driving force of any country, are killing themselves slowly in search of one goal: Success.
Think of countless hours in the office, and another countless amount of hours worrying anytime you’re away from the office. Think of time spent away from family in hotel rooms, fat ladened food dishes delivered from room service and a measly 3000 steps counted on your fitbit, probably taken from the bathroom back to your desk. This is the life of an entrepreneur. Or is it?
Well, we recently sat down with Tanqueray Towns, an ex professional football player turned CEO of his own performance consulting company about why he chooses to focus on entrepreneurs and their health.
“There’s a real hidden issue when it comes to entrepreneurs and this “hustle” culture that breeds burnout, low sex drive, and early mortality rates. There’s a sense that you’re not working hard enough if you have enough time to take care of yourself or are thinking consciously about your health. It’s either business success or fitness. Why can’t it be both? I can’t tell you how many business owners and entrepreneurs come to see me only once they have had a major health scare that forces them to focus on their health.
What is surprising to most of my clients is once they focus on their health, their business, relationships and even sex life improves. An entrepreneur’s career will be littered with many battles, whether launching a new product, generating profitable returns, being a leader, maintaining through the psychological stress on top of daily life pressures- sounds obvious right? But what’s not so obvious is the performance drop in their personal life, that leads so many to a hospital bed with severe health issues from bad lifestyle choices, poor stress management and terrible diets.
“I’m contacted daily by business owners and entrepreneurs seeking my help, to reach that next level and really wanting to dive deeper into the physical and mental side of things which my 4 stage neuro square formula digs into. I would say 80% of these people have gotten to where they are based on hard work, dedication and sacrifice, and then… crash.
They hit a roadblock either through a major health issue or a slip in their mental health (or a combination of both). It’s not that they don’t have the intelligence but it’s about more than being successful at this stage to break through and take it to the next level.”
So if it’s not just about being successful and having endless revenue streams, what else do you really need?
“*It’s about optimizing your health, mind, and body to use them to your benefit in the most efficient way possible. A lot of us don’t know how to be efficient. We think being efficient means doing as much as possible. We’ve simplified the process and we focus on four things to build the habit of next level success: nutrition, fitness, mindset, and lifestyle. As business owners, many of us start pushing our health to the side early in our careers. We have programmed our bodies and brains to do amazing things while fueling it with terrible foods and giving ourselves little avenues for building mental stamina or managing stress. Little do we know, these things are having major negative impacts on our brain and body chemistry as well as on overall performance levels. What my company does is we get to know each client, down to their brain chemistry and we design programs, routines, and instill habits that extract the entrepreneur’s best results, every time. By cutting out the fluff of the fitness industry and providing personalized education based on each client, we optimize him in every way.”
So the question on your lips is most likely, “Why do I need to do this now?” Well the truth is, the secret to the game, is longevity. And if you’re not looking after your health, you are not playing the long game. You are investing in short term success because eventually, your health will catch up to you. (Especially if you’re in a high level leadership position.) They say if you do not make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness.
“If you look at any successful person, and you reverse engineer that success, you will find that daily habits and lifestyle are the basis of that success. We work on optimizing better daily habits that coordinates with their work schedule and lifestyle. Coupled with accountability that is designed to help your transformation journey over the course of a year, your success is virtually guaranteed.
We focus on the brain and your individual brain chemistry. This is based on the science of neuro-type training which is very specific to high performing individuals like entrepreneurs and business owners, and the only area I work in. This is exactly how I transitioned from just another ex-football player to a wildly successful business, dad and live a life of more purpose than I ever had on the field”.
I’m sure we have all heard hype in the fitness world, and you see ripped images of both men and women all over social media but not many fitness professionals have actually gone deep neurologically behind what actually happens to form those habits which generates the results. In fact, Tanqueray is not a fitness coach at all, he is a performance enhancement consultant who specializes in working with the most high performing individuals in the world, helping them reach their highest heights.
So there you have it. That’s a high level neurological and performance consultant’s (also an ex-athlete and business owner himself) opinion on how to optimize health in order to reach new performance peaks in life and business.
Tanqueray Towns is a renowned neurological and physical training expert focusing on working with entrepreneurs and business owners to find true purpose and next level performance. He is also the CEO of Aggressive Intelligence. He has a unique method of building custom programs for high level leadership members based around neuro-typing that gets results in all four areas of their life and performance.
