How Freelance Writer Hannah Spraker Scaled Her Fiverr Business to Over 10k/Month in Less Than 8-Months

Freelancing is a long-term side hustle that many people know requires a considerable amount of attention and focus if they want to make the ‘big bucks’ when getting started. It’s not exactly a get-rich-quick kind of online business; yet for many, that’s what they love so much about freelancing: it takes attention, focus, and skill to make it happen.

Although freelancing is not something that brings in thousands of dollars during the first 24-hours, it has become a more attainable full-time hustle that can be quite lucrative in just a few months for savvy freelancers around the world right now.

One of those savvy freelancers is freelance writer and Fiverr PRO seller, Hannah Spraker.

Hitting the Journalism Ground Running

Always knowing she wanted to do something with writing and PR, Hannah quickly explored the world of journalism once she graduated from high school in 2011, going on to accept an internship at a hockey magazine.

Applying herself at 110% in the job, she noticed that it was commonplace for people in the world of sports journalism to still take on side hustles in order to pay their bills. Grateful for that initial experience, Hannah knew she wanted more for herself, so she applied to a PR agency in Downtown Toronto, securing her first job as an Account Manager. Ill-prepared for the toxic work environment, impossible demands, and abusive clients, Hannah told herself she was going to make this job work somehow – until she was fired.

Flying back home, which was California at the time, to return to the old marketing agency where she originally worked, Hannah was staring at a debt mound of 40k and a lackluster future that she never imagined for herself. That was, until COVID-19 hit, and she was back at home, working remotely. Working on her own terms, in a setting where she could thrive, Hannah downloaded TikTok one day to see what the hubbub was all about. After viewing freelancing videos put forth by big-time creators and freelance writers, Hannah was intrigued enough to open her own Fiverr profile in August 2020.

With nothing to lose, she applied to Fiverr PRO, the top 1% of the platform program that enables accepted sellers to charge high rates for their services.

To her amazement, Hannah was accepted into Fiverr PRO in Blogs & Articles and Press Releases. She opened her first few gigs and sat back. Boom. Her first order came in. More and more orders trickled in, making Hannah $1,000 by the end of September. By October, she was making $5,000 per month, knowing that this side hustle could very-well become a full-time gig in the near future.

By January 2021, Hannah was making $7,000 per month, and rounded out March 2021 with her first double-digit revenue stats: earning $9,300 via Fiverr and another $2,500 from monthly freelance clients managed outside of the Fiverr platform.

Debt-Free and Ready to Take on the Freelancing World

Since starting in August on Fiverr, Hannah has made over $60K and is well on pace to make over $160K between her full-time job and Fiverr for the 2021 calendar year.

Working part-time on Fiverr, using her evenings, mornings, and weekends to make it a reality for herself, Hannah, today, is debt-free and waiting to buy her very first home once the market starts to relax.

Hannah says she never would have known this kind of income was possible online as a freelancer if she didn’t apply herself and try something scary back in 2020. Now ‘Fiverr’s Choice’ for her Press Releases and Pitching gigs, Hannah hopes her story can inspire someone else feeling frustrated at their future prospects. The world of online freelancing is an exhilarating and ever-changing place, and for Hannah, that’s what she has been searching for all along.
