How Hip-Hop Artist Jayoolian is Rising in the California Music Scene

In the competitive California music scene, very few are able to make a name for themself. Despite the challenges, one artist who has begun to make a wave in the community is Jayoolian. Jayoolian is a new talent in the Hip-Hop community, starting his dive into music in 2017. His recent discovery of his musical talents and a newfound ambition to achieve greatness in the music industry have pushed Jayoolian to make significant progress in just a few short years.

Getting His Start

Jayoolian found himself at a breaking point in his life, debating on whether to pursue videography and film or stay in school and continue working retail. In addition to a tough decision, Jayoolian also had outside pressures weighing in on him, as well as feeling lost and struggling with depression. He decided to try something new to keep his mind off of all of life’s challenges. Although already a fan of hip-hop, he discovered a new appreciation for hip-hop and rap after being exposed to artists like A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, Schoolboy Q, Dom Kennedy, and Curren$y, and used his newfound appreciation to step into the realm of new-style rap.

Jayoolian would go on to purchase a copy of Apple’s “Logic Pro X” digital audio workspace and spent time learning the basics of the software. After messing around with the program for a while and a few attempts at beat-making, Jayoolian decided to give music a real chance. Jayoolian began showing signs of progression in the software, and after a while asked his then coworker Maanzglobal if he’d be interested in rapping and messing around with the beats Jayoolian had made. The pair began spending Wednesdays practicing rapping and signing, getting comfortable in their own shoes.

Becoming an Artist

These practice sessions would grow into a newfound lifestyle for Jayoolian. After meeting a girl and becoming best friends with her, Jayoolian began looking for a way to express his feelings and thought to himself, “What if I made a song?”. Having experienced bullying and constant put-downs from those around him growing up, Jayoolian was hesitant with the idea, but his untold feelings for this girl would drive him to express himself through song. Jayoolian and the girl started to write songs but nothing quite worked out.

Jayoolian struggled to come up with a track that really landed. He grew frustrated, and things weren’t panning out the way he had thought they would. Talking about his failed songwriting sessions, Jayoolian told us, “I decided to write a song about her and the people who kept doubting me or hating on me. Next thing you know, that lead to my first ever track “No Friends”, and I officially had a foot through the door of the music world.”

On to the Future

Jayoolian released his track “No Friends”, and would go on to release a handful of other singles throughout his young career. He also tells us that he has many songs tucked away, ready for release. As Jayoolian has been finding traction in his life and his music, things have begun to look up for the young talent. Partnering with a management team, he has found his groove in the music space writing songs, traveling, playing gigs, and creating his own record label Oceanside Records. Jayoolian has started making a serious wave for himself, and his fans can expect good things coming from Jayoolian in the months and years to come.
