How to Excel As an Author In The Post-Pandemic World

The outbreak of Covid-19 has pulled the rug out from underneath the publishing industry. Lockdowns and social distancing measures made it impossible to meet in small groups, let alone attend huge gatherings. As events were canceled and postponed, a new trend emerged. Online platforms have become the new stage for authors and new virtual tools brought unique opportunities. They afford greater flexibility and now authors can access massive global audiences without stepping outside of their homes.
The transition to virtual events has also been filled with challenges. Authors have had to adjust to delivering their message without a live audience. Realizing this, the founder of Magnetic Entrepreneur Inc, Robert J. Moore, is using his online and offline publishing experience to help authors overcome challenges and seize new opportunities in the digital world.
Learn How to Utilize Virtual Audiences
Engaging online and offline audiences takes a lot to master. Luckily, there are certain strategies authors can take to attract and keep their virtual viewers. “Whether you speak online or offline, people are still able to feel your passion about your book, so keep your energy level high.”
Robert explains that creating interactive online experiences can also go a long way to keeping an audience interested. “I like to plan opportunities for interaction and give my audiences incentives. I hold contests where audience members can win Amazon cards or win a free chapter in one of my collaboration books or free coaching sessions. In addition, I record my online sessions for future use.”
Put Your Skills To The Test On Different Online Platforms
Once you know how to attract and engage your audience, you can start utilizing online platforms, such as podcasts and online radio broadcasts, to spread your message. Being an author, you can build a lot of credibility through your books as you can have a celebrity write a foreword or even co-author with them as this will help sell the book, as the celebrity is already well known.
Robert J. Moore: has had many celebrates write forwards or even co-author books with him e.g., Jim Rohn’s 18-year business partner Kyle Wilson and world series pitcher Todd Stottlemyre, Les Brown and Les Brown’s daughter Serena Brown Travis, Reggie Rusk retired NFL player, Dr. Joe Vitale, from the book and movie “The Secret” Etc…
To give authors and content creators a leg up, Robert has recently launched his own radio station, Magnetic FM Radio, together with Marianne Padjan, where they let others buy time to run podcasts or commercials or even promote their upcoming events. “This is a great way to communicate marketing messages to large audiences by subtly combining them with valuable content, all while providing entertainment,” he says.
Get Your Message Published
While Robert’s main objective is to empower others to teach them how to share their story, he also helps entrepreneurs, authors get their message out there in a written format. In fact, Magnetic Entrepreneur has published over 100 books with Ingram’s Lightning Source. “My job is to help others tell their story and up-brand them. A part of this is getting them published and helping them get their books recognized by the world’s top libraries and bookstores.”
Robert helps his clients learn how to tell their stories as a way for people to enhance both their lives and businesses. “I always say, don’t become an author to make millions. Think of it this way, the book is going to help you earn credibility and potentially gain new clients. A book is a calling card for your business. Remembering this format and the money will follow.” said Robert.
Learn About An Authors Credibility
When looking for credibility on an author, try looking at other publications of an author, check their credentials. If it’s an academic article or a book. If your author is published in a magazine, remember well-known magazines always publish sharable stuff, not motivational content.
What Makes Someone Credible?
As a publisher. When we publish an author, we always read through and edit their work and run it through a plagiarism platform to determine whether we find them credible on the topic they are writing about. Are they considered an expert in their field?
If the author using another person’s information or content already published, then we make sure they use the proper site and sources to give the credit to that person who initially wrote it.
I always state that “an author’s credibility helps support their ideas and arguments in a well-written book. If their sources lack credibility, it undermines the effectiveness of their book and perhaps their own credibility. Therefore, they should consider how they want to be seen in the future.” Said Robert.
