How To Hang Decorative Mirrors On The Wall?

Hanging decorative mirrors or a painting on the wall is not a difficult task. It is easier than you think, and anyone can do it. Follow these simple tips and you’ll be right the first time.

How to hang mirrors on the wall? 5 ideas to decorate with mirrors

We love artistic mirrors: they fill any room with light and can make any room visually larger. They can also be hung on the wall in any room of the house: the bathroom, the entrance, the living room, and we have them in many different shapes, colors, and materials.

Today we bring you some ideas you can practice in your home to give charm to those empty or light-deprived corners.

Here you go:

  1. The bathroom mirrorhanging on the wall or standing over the sink?

The bathroom mirror has long since left the bathroom cabinet to be part of the furniture. Round or square, wood or metal, choose a mirror made of natural materials, with simple lines but in a way that gives personality to the room.

Bathroom is one of those places in the house where a round mirror looks great. Round gold, white decorative mirrors hanging on the wall look great. If they are large, rest on the sink or on a shelf that you put on top of it.

  1. Mirrors at the entrance: look at yourself before leaving home

Many times we do not find a painting that fits with the decoration, and a good idea may be to place a mirror. The mirror at the entrance has a double function: it will adorn our wall.

Hang the decorative mirror on the wall above the piece of furniture you have chosen for your entrance. And not too high, rather close to the piece of furniture. If we place the mirrors or paintings very high, the wall will remain empty.

  1. Children’s room with mirrors

Boys and girls love to dress up, paint, dance, do gymnastics, and make funny faces, and for all this, they will like to see themselves in a mirror.

Put them at their height so that they can be seen or hung not too high on a table or dresser. You must secure it very well to avoid any accident.

Choose elongated decorative mirrors if you are going to put it from the ground or round if you are going to put it on a table. You can choose fun frames in the shape of a house or a cat. There are many options to choose from!

  1. Master bedroom mirror

In the master bedroom, there must be at least one mirror in which we can see ourselves and check that everything is fine before leaving or where we can try on if that dress looks good with these shoes.

Once you have hung that main mirror, you can play by placing mirrors on the wall opposite the door to make the entire room visible without having to enter by seeing yourself reflected in the mirror. Choose the color or materials that best combine with the rest of the decoration.

  1. The hall of mirrors

It is not that you turn your house into the room of the amusement park, with mirrors in every corner, but the room is also a place that will ask us for a mirror combined when decorating its walls.

We like a variety of mirrors, but ones that have something in common: all gilded in different ways, all made of wood but in different tones, etc., so you’ll get an “ordered” set that will fill your wall evenly, without being garish.

Decorative mirrors: the best ideas that you can take advantage of in your home

When placed as decorative pieces, they also give a feeling of enlarging the space.

Mirrors are one of the main decorative elements of a house, and it is a fashion that comes from afar. Coming in various shapes and styles, they are practically irresistible and can transform the ambiance of a room.

Being reflective surfaces, decorative mirrors allow much more than checking if everything is in order when we leave the house in the morning.

When strategically placed as accent pieces, they also give a sense of space expansion and can increase the light in a room.

How to enlarge a room with decorative mirrors?

Knowing how to get the most out of decorating with mirrors can be a little more difficult than it seems, especially if you have just moved into a new house you do not know about.

However, we have two golden rules that can help make your house look bigger:

  • You can choose mirrors on the longest walls in rectangular rooms.
  • Another option to create a game of reflections is to place two or three decorative mirrors on opposite and perpendicular walls.

Tip: You should not place them near the stairs, as it can cause some disorientation.

Quick tips on how to hang decorative mirrors on the wall

Decorating a wall with mirrors is not always a clear choice. Preferences are different, and the type of decorative mirrors also varies. You can opt for a full wall mirror or a tilted position. If you choose the second alternative, you should look for large mirrors with embossed frames and designs.

Position matters

There is a wide range of decorative wall mirrors with a modern, vintage, large, small, and medium touch. The formats are also innovative: round, rectangular, and square mirrors with or without frames. It all depends on the personal taste of each one and the room where it will be placed.

Here are some ideas to help you:

  • Entrance hall

You can choose between placing it on the wall or the floor to achieve an incredible effect. The frame or space must be well lit.

  • Hallway

A sequence of small mirrors, or several different shapes and sizes distributed on the walls, always looks good.

  • Living room

The trick to putting decorative mirrors in the living room is to observe the environment and understand where they fit perfectly. If you do not want to hang mirrors on the wall, place them above the sofa or on the floor.

  • Bathroom

It would be best if you prioritized round and modern and “line” a wall in its entirety.

  • Bedroom

For anupbeat look, add decorative mirrors in the bedroom. The choice should fall on modern mirrors on the bed or the bedside table.

  • Vintage for a different touch

The vintage style never seems to go out of style, and going for vintage mirrors can add a touch of charm to your home.

The vintage style blends perfectly with contemporary furnishings and the bright colors of modern surfaces. Take advantage of an empty corner and give a touch of personality to the room withdecorative mirrors. However, to maintain harmony, you must think about every detail to avoid overloading the space with too many mirrors.
