How Tonya Mann, A Jane of All Trade, Disrupts The Holistic Health and Beauty Industry

Tonya Mann falls into a “multi-passionate” entrepreneur category. Most of her interests are centered around holistic health and beauty, which has led her to become a lifestyle expert, makeup artist, and holistic health and beauty coach.

She grew up around a high emphasis on beauty, her grandma was a beauty counselor, and her mom taught her about false lashes as soon as she was old enough. Growing up, she knew that it was something she loved and used as a tool to help her get through difficult phases of self-image and body confidence issues. Her Psychology and English degrees led her to a writing position as a Beauty Editor and then later the first Beauty Expert for Macy’s.

Being surrounded by a diet culture with negative messaging and media led her to her journey in holistic health. When she was young, all Mann heard about health was that she should be eating less and exercising more. It wasn’t until her first near-death that she learned your health truly is your wealth. Her experience was the moment that changed her life and the first time she decided to take her health into her own hands. Learning about how to cope with her Osteoporosis, the research, and discovery was the catalyst that led to Mann getting her Health Coaching certification.

Because society is currently instant-gratification-focused, Mann takes matters into her own hands and disrupts the health and beauty industry. Her business disrupts the industry by offering holistic health and beauty programs that deliver instant and long-term results. Holistic health, wellness, self-care, and mindset have become some of the buzziest terms in business, and they’re not instant-grat type services. Mann’s company uses her signature Outside-In Approach combined with secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in the industry. She helps women unleash instant confidence, build habits to up-level their lives, and develop personalized tools to make every day a win.

Mann’s Take On The Beauty Industry

Mann believes that there have been positive changes in the industry within the past couple of years with more inclusion, more transparency, more clean beauty options, and more support for small businesses. She believes she is making the most significant impact by showing up and using her voice to reach and share, educate, and support the industry with change. Mann wants to continue to create courses, coaching, and programs that will help empower women to unleash their confidence and live every day as a win.

She trusts that her pieces of advice for aspiring entrepreneurs apply no matter what industry you find yourself venturing into. Mann strongly believes in asking what you want, and she felt that she needed to be more effective in her stance on what you want. Even if you don’t get a yes and everything you’ve asked for immediately, you’ll probably get something you wanted. You’ve planted the seed for everything else to fall into place eventually. If you don’t ask, the answer will always be no.

As an aspiring entrepreneur, always trust your gut. Our bodies are so unique, and every answer you need is already inside you. We get feedback or feelings all the time, both good and bad, but we’re taught to think, not feel. Trust those feelings. The more awareness you build around how something makes you think and then trusting those feelings even when it’s hard, the easier your life will be.

Before you look to help others, Mann stands firm on the stance of filling up your cup first.

Stop putting everyone else before yourself. Make scheduling the time you need to prioritize, whether that’s blocking your calendar for workouts, Sunday meal prep, going to therapy, or writing in your journal. The options are endless.

 What’s Next For Tonya Mann

Within the next five to ten years, Mann believes that the health and beauty industries will continue to grow and intersect, a new focus around the importance of self-care, mental and physical health. Partly, thanks to COVID, there will be an overall paradigm shift concerning how we work and our value on how we’re spending our time. She’s excited because Mann trust that her business will be unlimited.

As for her business, Mann wants her signature Mind, Body, Beautycamp (MBB) Program to have changed the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of women worldwide, giving them the instant confidence and lifelong tools to up-level every part of their lives. In addition, she will also look to expand programs that she is building for makeup artists, stylists, fit-pros, healers, etc., that can work with my clients one-on-one if they need more support with a specific area.

Mann would like to engage in speaking opportunities and host holistic health and beauty retreats worldwide in ten years. Her two big dreams are to open a holistic health & beauty destination or whole health spa that offers everything from functional medicine, fitness, and food, to Rolfing, Reiki, and the most beneficial beauty rituals available. In addition, she’d love to have a passion project like a reality show focused on holistic health and beauty, bringing together industry experts to makeover lives in a meaningful, long-term way. Mann prides herself on being called T-Oprah because she can make anything possible.
