Interview With Georgia Up and Coming Artist BL Lucky

Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?
“My name is BL Lucky, I’m an artist from Savannah Georgia. I started recording in 2010 my freshman year of high school. My first year of taking music seriously was the end of 2019. I built a fan base from traveling to different states and cities promoting myself.”
When did you start music?
“I started doing music in 2010 but started taking it seriously in 2019.”
How did you get into music?
“I always have been big on music, but I wanted to make my own music after meeting Soulja Slim a week before he passed away.”
What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?
“The most challenging thing I ever overcame in life was staying focused on my career growing up in low-income areas of my city where it’s really easy to go down the wrong path. It’s way more bad influences than good.”
Who inspires you the most musically?
“I would say Young Jeezy is one of my favorite hip-hop artists that I listen to. He one of the people who inspired me to do music.”
What do you want people to take away after listening to your music?
“To be a genuine individual, being yourself is always the way to go. And stay positive no matter what your current circumstances are. Things can literally change overnight.”
What is your greatest achievement as a musician?
“My greatest achievement so far would be me doing 2 tracks with Zaytoven. He reached out to me after hearing one of my tracks that The Game posted on his Instagram story. He’s one of my All-Time favorite producers.”
What does a day inside your shoes look like?
“I own a few businesses, have to spend family time, and find a way to get in the studio(of course). I usually have a pretty tight schedule while trying to squeeze in some personal time to hit the gym and read a book. Time management is big in my life.”
Anything else you want the audience to know about you?
“I just want people to know that anything is possible. I grew up in an environment where the chances of being successful seem to be slim to none, but being focused can act as a superpower. You are literally whatever you consume meaning whatever you eat, read, watch, listen to, and spend time doing becomes you. In order to be successful, you have to live a successful lifestyle.”
