Interview With Rising Hip-Hop Artist Blizzyboy LJ

Blizzyboy LJ is a fast-rising hip-hop artist currently based in California. After enjoying success with his tracks like “Dior Weather”, which amassed 280,000+ streams on YouTube alone, we asked Blizzyboy LJ some questions to get to know the man behind the music.

Interview

How did you get to where you are today?

Originally from Hartford, Connecticut, I moved to New York for basketball, then California for music. What has gotten me where I am at now is never giving up.

Where are you from?

Hartford, Connecticut.

When did you first start your journey making music?

I started making music at 17.

What made you want to start creating music?

I got into music basically from my father. He would play a lot of Jay-Z growing up. So from that, I guess it was about time.

What’s the biggest challenge that you’ve overcome?

The most challenging thing that I have overcome is probably being homeless for two weeks.

Are you currently signed, or are you an independent artist?

Independent.

Who is one of your biggest musical inspirations?

Meek Mill.

What do you want people to feel when listening to your music?

When listening to my music, I just want people to basically catch a vibe and understand where I’m coming from basically. Just enjoy the music and my story that I have to tell.

What’s the next big move for you as an artist?

Right now, I’m just finishing up a few projects that don’t really have a set date for anything.

What has been your greatest musical achievement?

The greatest achievement I might say is probably performing the opening pitch at the Hartford Yard Goats game. That right there was definitely something to remember as an artist.

Do you produce your own music, or do you work with producers?

Currently, I do not produce, and most of my music comes from YouTube.

What’s one artist you’d like to collaborate with?

Meek Mill

Do you have any new music in the works?

Currently, no new music. Just working on myself and being a better me.

What does a day inside your shoes look like?

A day inside my shoes has a lot of ups and downs. One minute I’m good; next minute, I’m not focused.

What else what you like your fans to know?

I just want people to know if you are serious, you’ll make it, but you have to cancel distractions.
