From Zero To Expert: How The Power Of Personal Branding Transformed The Life Of John White

Some entrepreneurs fail to realize that personal branding is as equally important as business branding. Establishing a personal brand helps individuals start a business or build a career. White spent the early part of his career in the corporate world. For seven years, White has been doing business to business development in the wireless industry. His work primarily revolves around driving sales for the company until he got fired from his job, which sent him on a trajectory towards establishing his business.

“The best thing that ever happened to me was getting fired from my corporate job. I was pushed to get out of my comfort zone. If I had not gotten fired, I would not have found out that I can be successful in starting my own business. I think it was destined to happen to put me on the right path to success,” White declared. White added that it was a challenging period in his life that led him to discover that he had the skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur.

“Honestly speaking, I felt humiliated and frustrated when I got fired from my job. That was the lowest point of my life. But instead of dwelling on it, I decided to shift my mindset and pushed myself into a growth mode,” White narrated. White said to himself that he no longer wanted to work as a toxic boss. White also decided to pursue higher studies. In 2015, White earned his MBA degree from Regis University. He specialized in marketing, which allowed him to learn the tools needed to develop and implement powerful marketing tactics. He then established a business that he conceptualized for his MBA program. 

Six years ago, White founded Social Marketing Solutions. It is a public relations and content marketing agency that offers online branding using the latest social marketing tactics. “We tell your brand story to prospective customers. We optimize your website to make it easier for your potential clients to find your business,” White described. He continued to help their clients establish an online presence and use social marketing techniques to drive customer engagement.

White gained popularity after producing viral content that amassed millions of viewers across the world.  “A few years ago, I had zero online presence, but now I am all over the digital world. I now have 300,000 followers across my social media accounts,” White said. Also, White is an accomplished writer who has written more than 200 articles for Inc. Magazine and HuffPost. His articles have already gotten more than 10 million views.

Over the years, White has appeared in some of the world’s leading business publications. He got the opportunity to interview several world-renowned entrepreneurs. “Getting featured in the different publications has been the biggest differentiator for my company and my personal brand,” White proudly stated.
