Jonathan Matthews: Owner Of Sneaker Rack Has Thrived During The Pandemic

jonathan

Jonathan Mathews is what we like to call a fashion connoisseur. He owns his own sneaker company called Sneaker Rack where he specializes in clothing as well as sneakers. Recently we have had the chance to get to know Jonathan and dive deeper into what drives his brand.

So Jonathan ! Where did the idea for your company come from?

I came up with the idea for Sneaker Rack in a basement. While coming up with the name I thought RACKEDUP would be a dope slogan for the brand and it eventually became the name of our clothing line.

Super dope, Most struggled through the pandemic while you seem to thrive. Amazing. If you could collaborate with anyone on a sneaker, who would you choose?

Good question. Definitely Virgil and Kanye. They both have done so much for the fashion industry. They are true icons and pioneers . It would be a dream to work with either.

Nice. I was definitely sad to hear about Virgil’s passing. He was a true trendsetter. Well Jonathan I have to know..Where does your love for sneakers come from?

Yes I agree. Very tragic. Well, I have played Basketball for a bulk of my life and shoes just went hand and hand. The shoes that made me a true sneakerhead were the Shaqnosis kicks. The black and white ones with the swirls.

Oh yeah. Those sneakers were dope. Nice nice. Do you see yourself ever accepting cryptocurrency as a method of payment for customers? I see that the industry is picking up so eager to see how businesses think about adopting it.

I would be eager to adopt it as well. I want to keep up with the changes in the industry and stay on top of world trends. So I can definitely see that being something my company starts to consider down the road.

Amazing. Retailers are already beginning to implement as we speak. So, Sneaker Rack..Will there be a physical location?

I would like to launch the franchise in Connecticut when I get ready for my first physical location. I was born and raised there so it’s only right.

We would love to visit when you do launch your franchise. So amazed to see another successful entrepreneur thrive during the pandemic and create another stream of revenue. Great job with Sneaker Rack. We love the brand. Thank you for allowing us to interview you Jonathan. It was a pleasure.

Thanks for having me !
