Mariela Torres Baez: Heart and Soul Behind Le Clinique Esthetic & Spa

Do you know the story of Mariela Torres, one of the most prominent beauticians of Puerto Rico?

If there’s something that characterizes the Latina woman, besides a strong potential for entrepreneurship and work, it’s her natural beauty, as well as a special attention to personal care. Mariela isn’t only the embodiment of the entrepreneurial Latina woman, she’s also dedicated her professional life to highlighting and caring for the beauty of other Puerto Rican women.

Mariela is a professional beautician, a mother and a recognized San Juan entrepreneur. In 2008, she started her first business venture: Le Clinique Esthetic & Spa, which today has become one of the most important beauty care centers for women in the Puerto Rican capital.

Join us for an in-depth look at the secret behind the success of Mariela and her company.

About Mariela, a fascinating woman

Mariela Torres, besides being an entrepreneur, has become a true role model for her clients, which undoubtedly adds to her reputation of reliability.

She’s a woman who cares about preserving her health as well as her physical beauty. Although she’s a great food-lover, she seeks to maintain a balanced diet at all times. However, she says she’s passionate about Italian and French cuisine.

Mariela dedicates her free time to cultivating hobbies that add value to her life, her family, and her own community. She aims for every one of her actions and those of her company to generate additional value for her homeland.

How did she transform a business venture into a successful company?

Mariela opened Le Clinique in 2008. At the beginning, it was just a small aesthetic center among the hundreds that can be found in San Juan. However, her constant improvement of equipment and products, as well as reinvestment into the business soon paid off.

Within just a few years, Mariela completed a series of renovations that turned Le Clinique Esthetic & Spa into one of the most renowned beauty centers in Puerto Rico, famous for offering clients an exclusive, relaxing, and luxurious atmosphere like none other and providing a service experience that is truly unique in the country.

In addition, Mariela has taken it upon herself to keep her business at the absolute forefront of innovation in the aesthetic industry. Her spa is equipped with the most modern equipment for aesthetic care. Moreover, she makes sure to invest money appropriately to expand professional training for her and her collaborators.

All Le Clinique staff are highly professional and have undergone multiple specialized training courses in skincare techniques. For example, Mariela herself stands out as an exceptional aesthetician, trained in the use of acids for applying whitening and rejuvenation treatments.

The secret to her success isn’t just based on guaranteeing the highest quality in services and products, but it’s also closely related to her great capacity for planning, innovating, and capitalizing on ideas.

A good eye for opportunity

If there’s one element that separates businesses that grow from those that fail, it’s precisely the capacity to react in times of crisis. Mariela has shown a clinical eye for seizing opportunities, something she has amply demonstrated during the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the partial suspension of commercial activities in her country, Mariela has adapted her business to continue running. In fact, according to her own statements, she now has more clients than ever.

Faced with the impossibility of opening the doors to her spa, Mariela has dedicated herself to adapting her products and services to serve her patients from the comfort of their homes. To this end, she has designed a method for making personalized consultations through virtual channels.

She’s also designed body care kits to be sold at home. Each kit is completely customized and includes the exact products that each patient needs.

The importance of marketing for growth

Mariela pays special attention to Le Clinique‘s marketing campaigns. She knows that a good marketing campaign can make a big difference, especially during times of change.

In addition to being a great public relations officer, Mariela dedicates great attention and economic resources to solidifying her presence across digital media. Currently, she’s very active on Facebook, where she interacts with readers, clients and colleagues.

Her website is well-designed too. From her site, you have access to a detailed description of all the services available at her Spa, such as facials, laser hair removal, massages, body treatments, and much more.

In addition, you can use that same channel to schedule an appointment at Le Clinique whenever you want.
