Med School Dropout Usman Ashraf Finds his True Calling

Can you ever be 100% sure of the career path you choose to follow in life? A science student might wake up one day wanting to start his own business while a student pursuing a business degree might drop out midway to become a photographer. There can also be instances where you are forced to take a gap year or break and during that time you discover new things about yourself. Usman Ashraf is one such example whose life took an unexpected turn for the better.

As the students parted their ways after high school, Usman Ashraf moved abroad to China. He set out on the journey to become a doctor and completed 4 years of rigorous learning in China’s Medical University. As one year of school was left, he could see himself with a graduation cap on his head and a degree in his hand standing at the end of the tunnel but the only obstacle standing in this tunnel was his financial condition. Due to some monetary issues, he was forced to take a break to do some temporary jobs so he could come back and complete med school one day.

During this time, he moved back to New York and started driving Uber so he could earn enough money to bear his expenses and pay back the loans that he was getting buried under. Along with this job, he started learning about stocks as a part-time hobby which led to the development of a strong interest in trading. Once his interest and knowledge grew, he started to meet other traders to help them with their queries. After a lot of devotion, and time spent on reading trading articles and blogs, he slowly started to become an expert at advice and decisions related to options trading. Soon enough, he came up with the idea to turn this into a business. Ashraf shares “All I want to do is help people like me who started off knowing nothing but are passionate and devoted enough to put in the time and hard work to educate themselves.”

Then came into being OptionHub, his business platform made to assist people in their journey to become successful traders. Ashraf describes his goal as helping people in areas of options trading that they struggle with so they achieve great heights of success. The platform stands out from others as it has an online chat available 24/7 where people can ask about future or past trades and stay connected with each other.

As a 31-year-old successful businessman and options trader with complete financial freedom, Usman Ashraf now feels fortunate enough to take that break from med school as it allowed him to not only discover his true passion but also convert it into a source of living for himself and mentorship for others like him.
