Meet Josh Delaney, Founder of FAB CBD

Josh Delaney has been an entrepreneur for over 15 years. His company, FAB CBD, was started in 2017 and has quickly skyrocketed to being one of the biggest CBD brands in the US. What sets his company apart: No partners, no debt, no investors. For the first 12 months Josh had built it up to a multi-million dollar business.  From there, building a team and growing to a multi-eight-figure business through SEO, affiliate marketing, and great products. We believe that transparency and amazing support is a huge part of encouraging customers to try CBD products

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? 

My first business was selling home phone service and long distance service to all my friends and family in 2004. My first commission check was more than what I was making at my other three jobs combined. I realized I had no idea what I was doing in college anyway, so I dropped out, quit my other jobs, and went into business full-time. Fast forward over a decade and a dozen companies later, I most recently founded FAB CBD, a wellness company I started that has more than doubled in revenue for 3 years in a row.

What sets FAB CBD apart from other CBD companies?

Our products are tested by a third-party lab and we share the results on our website. We believe that transparency and amazing support is a huge part of encouraging customers to try CBD products. If customers aren’t happy, we have a 30-day money-back promise. It’s not about gimmicks. It’s about selling the highest quality products that genuinely help our customers and letting them know we are here to guide them through it.

What sacrifices have you made to start your own company?

The rise of entrepreneurship has been treated like a glamorous thing recently, but it isn’t. No one wants to work 14 hours a day if they don’t have to. I know I don’t. I’ve had to give up friends and family to build my dream business and lifestyle. As an entrepreneur, you take this on because you believe that you’re solving a problem that can help a lot of people. You’re building a business that will employ people and offer products or services that your customers need. You have to believe that your mission is so important, you’re willing to give up certain things in your everyday life.  It can be brutal. I think it’s worth it, but you really do have to sacrifice just about everything to get there.  The game is to keep your mental and physical health together while you do so.  I lost a bit of each along the way and I regret that.  Staying in shape and staying sharp is so vital to your long term success.

What’s something about FAB CBD that you’re proud of?

I’m really proud of the relationship we have with our customers and of course our charitable giving. We helped to provide over 6,000 meals for Feeding America during COVID, funded technology programs for inner-city schools and provided $10,000 to help out-of-work veterans. We’ve also funded three projects for Make-a-Wish. Some people feel uncomfortable with how open we are about what we give, but I don’t think there should be a stigma around it. I want to normalize giving and encourage others to give. I believe it could be a powerful force for change if more entrepreneurs shared openly.

What exciting projects are on the horizon for you?

Right now, our focus is on FAB CBD. We’re working hard to continue innovating on our products and growing our brand to reach as many customers as possible. The funds from FAB CBD are going towards developing commercial and residential real estate right now, so that we can turn our eCommerce company into hard assets. Those funds are also supporting another big venture I’m working on that I’ll be able to share more information about soon.
