Executive Voice

Meet Kim DelMonico; Founder and CEO of BE INFLUENCE.

Kim DelMonico is the Founder and CEO of BeInfluence.co, an innovative marketing agency that helps brands with their social media campaigns and overall web presence.

Kim is also a proud advocate of Gender Equal Pay, a movement that aims to close the gap between the salaries of men and women.

Over the years, Kim has seen tremendous success in her business. In this article, we will learn the values and principles she applied on her journey to success.

Overcoming Obstacles

As business owners, obstacles are something we face every day, and we’ve all found our different ways of dealing with them.

Kim recalls that the most significant obstacles she faced were the emotional roller coasters that she experienced from being a business owner. Sometimes your business sees a period of growth, and other times, everything comes to a standstill.

At the start of her journey, Kim took on projects that she wasn’t happy with, and for rates that were much lower than the standard price.

She shares with us that the only true way of overcoming this is selecting the clients you work with and pick projects you are genuinely passionate about.

Achieving Success

Kim prides herself on starting her own business and having the guts not to give up on it.  Apart from being the CEO of a firm, Kim is also an attorney, so it would have been very easy for Kim to relax and not oversee her business’s growth due to the steady paycheck she got every month.

She realized that when you own a business, you have to rely only on yourself. You’re the one in charge of your growth and the paycheck you earn every month.

So far, her firm has seen nothing but success, and she’s thankful for this.

Inspiration and a word of advice.

During her time working as a cocktail waitress at the 40/40 club, Kim looked up to Desiree Perez. Desiree is the COO of Roc Nation, and she is often called a powerhouse by the people she works with.

Kim was inspired by Desiree’s attitude to work. How she handled and operated the firm in her unique way was unlike another thing Kim had seen before.

She learned essential business principles from Desiree. These principles have helped her scale her business to the level it is today.

Here’s some advice from Kim to anyone who’s pursuing success in their career;

“Find someone who is the place you want to be and find out what it took them to get there. Reach out and ask for advice, help, and mentorship.

I won’t be where I am today without the mentors who’ve guided me through all the obstacles I’ve faced.”
