Never Settle for Anything Less than Flawless: In Conversation with Nicholas Flathau

Young entrepreneurs reaching pinnacles of success isn’t newfound glory. However, what certainly makes for a unique story is consolidated strategy, commitment, and implementation. Millionaire Nicholas Flathau, 27, discusses the drive and dedication that led to Flawless Diamonds Co. Amidst all the diamond talk, the young entrepreneur shares his pearls of wisdom and advice for business enthusiasts across the world.

Based in Chicagoland and extending services to clients worldwide, Nicholas talks about his entrepreneurship experience and outlines the highs and lows for keen learners.

If you were to jot down the three must-haves for business enthusiasts, what would those be?

I believe that success does not cleave in overnight. Also, no matter how short or consistent my graph might look, those lines hide hours of work each day. I believe in dedicating all 18 waking hours to your aim with dedication, only then should one dream about profits.

According to me, the three must-haves are:

– Commitment

– Sacrifices

– Strategic working

Which sacrifices do you think helped you take your business where it is today?

 The sacrifices we make might be different for each of us. However, an enthusiast harboring the heart of an entrepreneur should be prepared to cut down on time with loved ones as he/she steals time for work each day. It is relentless work that brings in results.

Which hindrances did you face as an entrepreneur? Also, what is your advice on overcoming them?

 To be honest, the thought of stepping into the shoes of an entrepreneur came to me a couple of years back when I while I was admiring refined jewelry. Back in college, I was a varsity football player. A ligament injury set me off my track. I went on to study medicine, keeping football aspirations aside. However, that space didn’t seem conducive to me. I overcame a lot of hindrances before stepping into entrepreneurial shoes. In some way or the other, they helped me weigh my choices and outcomes better.

I think the only way to overcome hindrances is through hard work and strategic implementation. One can achieve what he/she wants with a positive outlook, a positive company, and dedication.

Has the journey been excruciating?

No, I wouldn’t say that. It has been testing at times and a little baffling at others. However, when you put in so much effort and begin to see results, it is a sense of fulfillment that takes hold of you and gives you the strength to work harder each day.

In your opinion, how is Flawless Diamonds unique?

Flawless Diamonds is unique with its core and its approach. We believe in customer satisfaction and all our services are customer friendly. Customized jewelry is a cherry on the cake. We advocate transparency and treat all customers the same. It is the brand’s dedication and sincerity that sets it apart.

What has been your peak moment so far?

I do not think I can settle for one moment. Everything is inclusive of the other and everything has followed an intricate cause-effect relationship. Altogether, having 3 companies under my career canopy is a satisfying feeling. I wake up wishing to outdo myself each day.

Other than that, I believe in supporting the aspirations and dreams of children from underprivileged families. To reach out to someone in need is a form of happiness and contentment like none other.

It has been a short road to success, have you given back a fair share?

 I am an ardent believer and propagator of standing up for social causes. I think the world can be a better place only if you and I stand up and make it happen. I like volunteering at the local church. I also make it a point to pay for child education and community service. We believe in giving people their fair share of happiness. Both my company and I, try living by it.

It has been quite an engaging journey! What is likely to follow?

 I have enough on my plate and apart from being engaging, the journey has been satisfying too. However, we have a clothing apparel line in mind and that is what shall follow. We hope we can make it just as big.

She has been in the digital marketing industry for over 6 years and has worked with clients across different sectors including Volkswagen Finance, Natera, Reliance, Standard Chartered amongst others. She has also done special content projects for Facebook. Karishhma is also a Wikipedia editor and has created over 300 pages for her clients. After founding Facilius Inc in 2014, she has helped grow the company from a two-person team to a dynamic team of 30 people.
