Podcast Host and Agency Founder Roman Prokopchuk Adopts First Son After Fostering 29 Kids in 4 Years

Roman Prokopchuk who is the host of the Digital Savage Experience Podcast and Founder of Nova Zora Digital and his wife Lindsay got to formally adopt their son this March.

Roman’s Journey as A Foster Dad

He and his wife began their journey by going through 6 miscarriages in 3 years spending over 100k out of pocket on infertility treatments. Out of painful situations, often we rise from the ashes and help others. These painful events led them to become foster parents in 2018.  They’ve provided a safe and loving home for 29 kids in 4 years.  They’ve had as many as 5 kids under the age of 4 in their home.

Roman and his wife Lindsay welcomed Tyler officially as their son after fostering him since he was 2 weeks old.  He was born prematurely with drugs in his system, and the hospital staff didn’t think he would make it past the first week. Many children need a safe loving home in the United States that are in the foster care system.

Advocating For Foster Care Reform

Roman is a foster care advocate and tries to use his podcast and interviews he does on other podcasts and media outlets to advocate for an overhaul of the foster care system and educate the public what it really is like to be a foster parent. He is vocal about issues like the lack of therapeutic services in the reunification process when a foster child is getting ready to go back home.  Many people’s views of foster parents are built on what they see or hear in the news and media, which often is a negative depiction.  Roman tries to address common stereotypes about foster parents and educate people about what they go through as well. Roman and his wife experienced the bad and good the foster care system has to offer, and through it all they were there to help the kids above all.

Roman’s Background

Roman is a first-generation immigrant from Ukraine who came to the United States in 1990 with 6 other family members to a 2-bedroom apartment.  His family came to the US to escape religious persecution. He currently has 5 family members fighting in the Ukrainian military in the War in Ukraine and one of his family members has had their house blown up in a missile strike. He was an intern for the Secret Service and held a top-secret security clearance.  He got into digital marketing as a result of the 2008 recession and founded Nova Zora Digital in 2012.  He’s the host of the Digital Savage Experience Podcast which has been a top 100 podcast in its category in over 20 countries.
