Entrepreneurship
Ravi Rajapaksha unveils the success story behind Sri Lanka Elephant Safari

Being the founder of a business can be highly gratifying, but it is not as easy as it seems. These are the sentiments of the rising young influencer, Ravi Rajapaksha.
“Founder” and “CEO or co-founder” are job titles that many prospective entrepreneurs dream of having on their Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. Even the media constantly emphasises how simple it is to be your own boss, network with influential people, raise money, work in a fancy office, and finally become a billionaire like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, among others.
While there is unquestionably some truth to some of the rewards listed above, the mainstream media often disregards the difficulties of becoming an entrepreneur.
Who is Ravi Rajapaksha?
It is best to introduce this multi-talented individual as a digital nomad, a social media manager, a digital marketing expert, a travel influencer, a investor, and a successful entrepreneur. When it comes to Instagram influencer marketing, Ravi is known as a prolific digital brand builder. He has quickly gained a large fanbase on his social media accounts.
Ravi is also the founder of a well-known Sri Lankan travel company named Sri Lanka Elephant Safari. His love of travel and admiration for Sri Lanka’s stunning natural beauty led him to establish this company.

It was Ravi’s passion for travel and admiration for the gorgeous natural beauty of his native Sri Lanka that spurred him on to establish this tour company. Ravi grew up near Kandalama, which was a surprisingly beautiful area in Sri Lanka. This old historical spot was his favourite place to go when he had some time on his hands and was delighted to see so many tourists flocking there.
His passion for travelling became his career when he started to embark on his journey as a tourist guide. While working as a tour guide, he explored the country and gained vital experience in the field of networking as well as building lasting friendships and business relationships.
Adding to that, when he saw the need in the tourist industry for customised elephant tour services in Sri Lanka, his previous work experience in the field spurred him on to start his own business. That is how he came up with his own tour company, Sri Lanka Elephant Safari.
Since its inception, Sri Lanka Elephant Safari has come a long way, and now it is recognised as one of the most popular safari services in Sri Lanka. This amazing safari experience lures tourists from all over the world.

With many safari tour providers, Ravi’s business has to stay competitive. When he was asked what makes his service stand out from the rest, he replied, “We distinguish our services by taking the time to understand and meet the needs and expectations of each client, and then customising tour packages to fit those needs and expectations.”
In the opinion of Ravi, “safari” is a powerful tool for creating lasting memories and igniting aspirations in the human spirit. You should feel fully renewed and inspired when you come home after your journey. Your life should have been transformed in some way by the experience, and you should find yourself being gently pulled back to that location as the months and years pass.
What to expect on this excursion?
Upon arrival at Sri Lanka Elephant Safari, you will meet your safari guide and get a briefing on your safari experience. This is a four-hour excursion with a guide where morning tours begin at 6 a.m., while afternoon tours begin at 1.00 p.m. If you are staying at a hotel in the Dambulla or Sigiriya areas, they will even arrange a complimentary hotel pickup.
After entering the national park in a jeep with your guide, you’ll be able to view various types of birds and other animals that have made those sanctuaries their home. As you learn about the national park’s vegetation and animals, the guide will discuss the different intriguing characteristics of the park.
You will be escorted to the majority of the Kaudulla and Minneriya National Parks, which will include wetlands, grasslands, forest patches, and other natural areas of interest. They will make lengthier pauses at some watering holes in order to take advantage of exceptional picture possibilities.
The safari comes to an end at around 11 a.m. or 5 p.m. Upon completion of the trip, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
An experience to remember for a life-time
On this elephant safari, you’ll be able to get up close and personal with the animals. Minneriya and Kaudulla national parks are known for their elephants, and a jeep safari is a great way to get closer to these majestic creatures.
Around 250 elephants live in Kaudulla because of a nearby water reservoir. However, Lonely Planet has ranked the yearly gathering of roughly 300 elephants in Minneriya National Park in July as the sixth-best animal spectacle.
If you are a tree hugger, you are in for a great treat with this safari tour. A morning trip gives you the best opportunity to see the majority of the area’s birdlife. This includes peacocks, parakeets, eagles, pelicans, owls, hornbills, cranes, and more. Elephants can be seen in around 20% of their total population. If you want to view a larger group of elephants, go on the evening jeep safari tour. There are also other species to be found in the area, such as monkeys, crocodiles, raccoons, foxes, and wild boars.
