In the ever-evolving landscape of dentistry, where patient experiences are paramount, Dr. Sheema Samarrae emerges as a beacon of innovation and compassion. With a wealth of international training and experience, she has carved her path in the dental field, standing out as a dedicated dentist with a unique vision.

Dr. Samarrae’s journey began with an unyielding love for dentistry that was nurtured from a young age. Observing the fear and apprehension many patients faced when visiting dental offices, she was driven to transform the dental experience into something private, comfortable, and even artistic. As she explains, “An artist cannot be a dentist, but a dentist can be an artist.” Her artistic flair merged seamlessly with her scientific aptitude, fueling her passion to provide comprehensive care that extended beyond just cleaning teeth.

Graduating with distinction from the University of Baghdad in Iraq with a degree in Dental Medicine and Oral Surgery in 1998, Dr. Samarrae’s quest for excellence led her to obtain a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Schulich Dental School at the University of Western Ontario in 2008. However, her pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there. With an unwavering commitment to continuing education, she embarked on over 1,800 CE courses from renowned institutes such as Toronto Implant Institute, Pikos Implant Institute, Misch International Implant Institute, Pankey Institute, Kois Center, and Digital Smile Design Residency, among others. But for Dr. Samarrae, it’s not merely about accumulating credits; it’s about constant improvement and learning from experienced practitioners in various dental disciplines to translate those learnings into creating better patient experiences.

Having worked with over 5,000 patients through her practice, The Teal Umbrella Family Dental Healthcare. Dr. Samarrae’s office stands out for achieving the prestigious Invisalign Platinum status, a recognition earned by working on over 65 cases every six months, which comes in as more of an impressive feat as a general practitioner.

Yet, Dr. Samarrae’s journey to success hasn’t been without challenges. As a dentist certified in Iraq, the process of obtaining accreditation in Canada was daunting. But with determination, she not only pursued her passion but also advocated for other dentists facing similar obstacles, inspiring them to persevere.

For Dr. Samarrae, dentistry is not just a profession; it’s a calling. She passionately emphasizes that dentists need to be proactive in their pursuit of knowledge, constantly innovating to keep up with the rapidly evolving dental landscape. Her dedication extends beyond enhancing patient experiences, as she is fervently committed to equipping fellow dentists with the expertise and knowledge to provide dental implants as a superior and healthier alternative to bridges and dentures.

Driven by a passion for advancing dental care, she stands as a beacon of inspiration in the field of dentistry.

As a beacon of inspiration in the field of dentistry, Dr. Samarrae also conducts local training sessions in Ottawa, aimed at teaching fellow dentists how to strategize and execute dental implant procedures for their patients, as well as constantly providing mentorship to those who need customized guidance on their path in Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Sheema Samarrae’s story is one of passion, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in dentistry. Through her innovative approach and commitment to patient well-being, she is redefining dentistry, one patient at a time.
