Sterling White’s Journey to Real Estate Success

As a child growing up in Section 8 housing with his mother and twin brother, Sterling White dreamed of rising beyond his circumstances to make a name for himself. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through from a young age, from selling Kool Aid in elementary school to Pokemon cards as he aged. When he began researching the wealthy, he identified real estate as a top vehicle that helped entrepreneurs achieve success. For Sterling, this career path was a no brainer. He notes, “I started with single family homes then transitioned to apartments. I was able to make it out of that environment to now owning just under $20 million worth of real estate.”
With a passion for giving back to the community, Sterling also holds a position on the main committee of Big Brothers, Big Sisters. He is a firm believer that each and every one of us are here for one reason: to help one another. Rather than defining success in purely monetary terms, Sterling strongly believes in the benefits of investing in real estate to become a better father and businessman. He says, “I’m steadily working towards becoming the strongest version of myself and to be an ideal to the kids in my childhood environment, showing them that there’s a way out and here’s how I did it. That’s my ultimate mission in life.”
To that end, Sterling has created several resources for aspiring real estate professionals. His latest book, From Zero to 400 Units, details his personal journey in the industry. He also hosts a top-rated podcast, The Real Estate Experience with Sterling White, where he shares his secrets, life-experiences, and practical tools for finding freedom through real estate. Despite working in such a saturated market, Sterling sets himself apart from the rest by authentically sharing his story with the world. He says, “That’s what I’ve found that people can relate to more, rather than the common ways others advertise in this space. It’s not like how they show it on TV; there’s no such thing as an overnight success. Be willing-to put in the work and mask sacrifices. It will all be worth it if you’re willing to do this.”
According to Sterling, the key to success is having a positive mindset from the very offset of business. He says, “Mindset is important in not only starting a business, but thriving. It’s the foundation of everything. I am a believer that it’s 90% mindset, 10% mechanics.” Today, Sterling has sold over 100 single family homes. His primary specialities include sales, marketing, crowdfunding, buy and hold investing, and investment properties. Throughout the span of a decade, Sterling has-contributed to helping others become successful in the real estate industry. His mission is to help as many-people as possible, giving them the push they need to create their own path to success.
