Steve’s Journey to Success: A Story of Creativity, Innovation, and Passion

Schofield’s Flowers, the brainchild of Steve “Scof” Schofield, is a one-of-a-kind production company that infuses creativity and beauty into each project, be it a commercial, film, or brand strategy. With a rich family history in the floral industry dating back to 1896, when Steve’s grandfather owned one of the busiest flower shops in America that even catered to infamous gangsters, including Sam Giancana, and was the site of a notorious killing of Dean O’Banion by Al Capone, Steve has found a way to combine his family’s expertise with his own production knowledge to offer brands a unique approach to thrive in today’s highly competitive landscape.
Over the years, Schofield’s Flowers has worked on several successful campaigns, including a global Belvedere campaign, Lenovo’s global campaign featuring Olympian Gabby Thomas, and an outdoor museum in Grant Park for Netflix’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7” during the Black Lives Matter movement. Steve’s impressive career highlights are also worth mentioning, such as his involvement in branding David E. Kelley’s production company, directing his end tags called “You Stinker” with his grandmother Mims, creating BMW Films with renowned directors like John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Guy Richie, Wong-Kar-Wai (WKW), Alejandro Gonzales, and creating all the VFX for the series The Hire. Another notable accomplishment in Steve’s career includes the creation of the Mini Cooper Robot hoax campaign for Alex Bogusky and Crispin Porter Bogusky which earned him multiple awards such as the Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, and AICP Awards.
Last year, Steve ventured into the world of NFTs and partnered with The Infinite Reality, a MetaVerse company, to explore the possibilities of the web3 space. He launched a one-of-a-kind NFT pop-up gallery in Soho, NY, for three months that showcased Warhol photographs taken by photographer Marshall Swerman. During NFTNYC, the gallery had three incredible openings, including one that saw over 2,400 people coming through the gallery all day and night, spilling onto Crosby St. The NFT campaign launched in partnership with Marshall was a success, with a high demand for the Warhol NFTs.
Recognizing the potential for innovation and creativity in this emerging field, Steve is continuing to explore the possibilities of NFTs and the web3 space. Steve’s work in this space serves as an example of the power of combining creativity, innovation, and a willingness to explore new possibilities.
Steve highlights the importance of adopting a data-driven approach and leveraging available tools to drive the success of your company. During the pandemic, he used the slower pace to his advantage by learning about the potential of data. Additionally, Steve encourages fellow entrepreneurs to attend industry conferences and award shows, make connections with as many people as possible, and add them to their database after each event. With a single connection capable of shaping an entire year, networking is crucial. Steve stresses that a visually appealing website and professional social media presence can help secure clients. He recommends integrating learnings from previous experiences into new and innovative strategies that align with current objectives.
Schofield’s story is not only one of creativity, innovation, and business acumen but also a testament to the power of combining family history and experience with a passion for innovation and creativity. He continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the digital and NFT space. His inspiring journey serves as a testament to the power of combining one’s family history and experience with a passion for innovation and creativity. Steve’s work with Schofield’s Flowers and his team is evidence of the possibilities for anyone willing to put in the work and passion to achieve their dreams.
