Did you just purchase a new PC and are looking for trending PC games to play? Or are you waiting for the next season of a game? No matter what the reason is, we have prepared a list of the top most popular PC games for you to play. 

Most people think they need to buy the most expensive PCs to play their games efficiently. Although the more expensive the PC is, the better the specifications, you can still play many popular PC games on rather cheaper computers. It is also not a guarantee that if you have an expensive PC, you will play well. 

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Released in the year 2009, Call of duty: Modern Warfare II is a first-person shooter game. It has five prequels and came directly after Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game was highly received by the audience and, according to Wikipedia, on the first day of its release, sold around 4.7 million copies in the UK and USA. 

The game has fast-paced gunfights against the army enemy. The player gets a character, and they can control their character to perform actions such as shoot, jump, prone etc. The game can be played in three different modes, including Multiplayer, Campaign, and Spec Ops. 

As of the latest reports in 2022, the cheapest version of the game costs around $70 for the consoles. 

World Of Warcraft 

World of Warcraft is referred to as WoW and was released in the year 2004. It is a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game (MMORPG). The game was a commercial success and had around 12 million subscribers in 2010. Ever since the game was launched, there have been nine expansion packs.

Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is a one-person shooter game released in November 2019. It was the twelfth instalment of the Battlefield series.  The game is only for multiplayer. Although the game received criticism from the players because of the lack of features and technical issues, it was the third best-selling game in the UK in the week of its release. However, the game failed to meet the sales expectations. The game has had three seasons til now. 

  1. Season 1: Zero Hour
  2. Season 2: Masters of Arms 
  3. Season 3: Escalation

A fourth season of Battlefield 2042 is expected to come in 2023. The PC game costs around $60. 

The Sims 4

The Sims 4 is the sequel of The Sims 3 and the fourth instalment in the series, The Sims. It was released in February 2015 and is a social simulation game. Players can create and dress up their characters called “The Sims” and stimulate their everyday lives. 

The game was very well received in sales and had over 36 million players as of 2021, and has generated a revenue of over $1 billion by 2019. However, it was criticised for the lack of features and missing content. It has a 70/100 total PC score, according to Wikipedia. The sims 4 expansion packs include the following.

League Of Legends 

A multiplayer online battle arena game released in 2009 and often referred to as League, the League of Legends is inspired by the Defense of the Ancients. The game is free to play and is monetised using the purchasable character customisation. There are two teams of five players, and they go head-to-head. Each team has to defend their part of the map. Champions become more powerful as they collect items such as experience points, gold etc. 

League of Legends mostly received positive reviews from the audience and critics. In 2019, it had its peak players of eight million. It had a fluctuating revenue. In 2019, it earned $2.1 billion. Although it received a lesser revenue in 2018, $1.4 billion, it was still one of the highest-growing games of the year. 

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V was released in 2013 and is the seventh instalment in the Grand Theft Auto Series. It is a single-player story and has three protagonists. 

  1. Street Gangster – Franklin Clinton
  2.  Drug Dealer – Trevor Phillips
  3. Bank Robber – Michael De Santa 

Players can navigate the world on foot or through a vehicle. It can be played either from the first-person perspective or the third-person perspective. There are a lot of heist sequences and shooting etc. the game broke all industry records when it earned $800 million on its first day and gained a revenue of over $1 billion in the first three days. The game did receive some criticism because of the extensive violence and the way it portrayed women. 

As of 2018, the game had earned a total revenue of $6 billion worldwide. The game costs around $40.

Undoubtedly, the gaming industry brings huge revenue. According to an article published on Research Prospect about the ‘simulation gaming industry’, revenue of US$365.10bn is projected to be reached in 2023.
